Squeaking in a very short time guarantee. You must put grease on the slide rails, not only the little drop on the ears. Some pads don't come with shim replacement, so make sure you remove using screwdriver leverage and not just pull them out because this can break them. Wire brush, brake cleaner, will clean them up nicely. ObDII device needed to set brake service mode. I used a bluetooth reader and app called carista that worked well for me. Other than those points video was good.

Nice how the rotor automatically renews itself in the process. This video also works with the mute option in case you don't like lame, really loud, looped desktop derived "music" noise.

Explain how you put the vehicle in parking brake service mode?
@autodocuk4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your feedback! Unfortunately, it is not possible to recommend any method for setting the service mode. You can find a detailed manual in the service documentation for the repair of your car. Best regards, Autodoc.

Using diagnostic equipment, the parking brake is switched to service mode, at which point both rear axle drives go into service mode.

@luciusn21 Жыл бұрын
The one that I’ve heard about the most and ended up getting is VCDS, though it’s like $250 plus shipping and taxes, but it lets you do a lot more than just change the brake pads. There’s coding you can change as well if your vehicle does things you’d like to turn off or things you’d like to turn on. The Ross-tech website and audi forums can explain more deeply than I can

@@autodocuk can we do ourself I mean if I want to change then at home what do I need to do? Do I need some software or something else Thanks for your reply Appreciate
@carlalm61009 ай бұрын
@@CrystalIced I usually just hot-wire the electric servos. Disconnect the connector and you'll see two flat contacts. Using a 12V battery (and a small fuse is recommended), run wires from the battery to the connectors using insulated alligator clips. Be careful not to short anything out and observe polarity (watch which way the piston moves) and listen to the servo motor. You have to do the procedure on each side once.

Is it a must to keep it on service mode

Thank you for your comment! In this case, the rear caliper is equipped with an electronic handbrake, without the service mode, you will not be able to squeeze the piston back into the caliper body. Best Regards, Autodoc team

o, not from the cars computer without the OBD11 or other service software. Manual way is possible. The motor is 12V. Disconnect the plug on the brake calliper, use a small 12V battery from a motor cycle or similar, or 2-wires from the car's battery. Always be very careful for a short on the 12V system. If revers polarity is applied to the motor, the motor will release. Apply the 12V until the motor stops, that can take approximately 10-sek. The motor is now fully released. The hydraulic piston can now be pushed back to allow for the fitment of the new pads.

How to these brakes work? It seems like there is nothing to push the pads back out after the caliper squeezes them. Are the always slightly riding the disk?
@autodocuk2 жыл бұрын
The design of the brake calliper is so arranged that only when you press the brake pedal does braking occur by contacting the discs with the pads. When the pedal is released, the pressure is released, disengaging the pad from the surface of the disc.

Does the pad sit in the anti rattle clip or does the clip push against the pad seems like the spring part of the guide is there to retract the pad a small amount so it's not dragging. Am I correct
