Today's class is all about choosing eyeshadows that make YOUR eye color pop! I show you how to use the color wheel to figure out what colors look best and demonstrate 3 different looks that are easy and fast to do. At the end we always do a short Q&A so I can answer your questions about makeup!

*Regarding liner collecting in the corners after lining the waterline, I used to have that problem but then I found 3 great liners and a technique that helps. Immediately before lining the waterline, take a Q-tip and run it across your waterline from outer corner inward. That will dry your waterline and allow the eyeliner to set down more on a drier surface. 3 good eyeliners that stay in place well are the Marc Jacobs Highliners, the Ardell Wanna Get Lucky eyeliners and the Milani Stay Put 16 hour eyeliner.*

Hi marlena , i have had 5 kids i can promise you will know if they are proper contractions because it will make you stop anything you're doing and there will be pressure pushing down . Dont get me wrong braxton hicks are uncomfortable but you can move and sitting isnt uncomfortable , i found it started in my back first and travelled to my sides and stomach also your whole stomach will literally feel rock solid during a contraction and for me it unbearable to sit during one laying down was ok but standing was better , glad everything is going great for you right now xx

Best advice a got at my first baby shower...'sleep when the baby sleeps" It sounded like silly advice at the time. And I didn't take it to heart. Cuz I was so into HER while she was awake, that all the lil tasks that I would do all day before she came, got ignored or put-off. So when she slept I would do all those lil tasks. Right up till she woke up. Then I was with her again. It went okay for a few months. But then as her sleeping pattern settled in. It really began to effect my own rest. THEN I GOT IT!!! Sleep when she sleeps. The STUFF (lil tasks) will still be there or my super helpful husband would work very hard to eliminate the Stuff for me. We can run on our own steam for quite a long time. You'll be surprised by how much you can function with so little sleep, really. But at a point you will start feeling it. So for sure Marlena... Sleep when she sleeps. Make that a habit. Giving birth is scary when it’s your first time. Here are some tips that I’ve learnt from giving birth to my two beautiful kids... Remember that your body is designed to do this! Stay calm and let nature and your body do its thing. You don’t need a cast of thousands in the delivery room with you! Having lots of people in the delivery room makes you stressed, and a stressed mumma means a stressed baby. Keep your birth partners to two people max. If you don’t think your partner is going to be able to handle seeing you in pain, or be able to support you during labour and birth, then don’t feel obliged to have him there!! You need people around you who can stay calm and advocate for you. Keep the lights in the delivery room low! Harsh bright lights aren’t conducive to relaxation. You might also want to make a playlist of relaxing music you enjoy. Pack some snacks! Labour is hard work. Packing a few snacks to keep you going can be very helpful (I found I wasn’t able to eat during my labours but if you can’t eat the snacks your husband will probably appreciate them LOL). Keep hydrated. Some women find chewing on ice is helpful. Consider labouring in the shower or bath. Sitting in the bath is relaxing and the water helps to take some of the weight of your belly! Labour at home for as long as possible before heading to hospital. You want your contractions to be about 1 minute apart before you head to hospital. If you think you might be starting labour keep track of your contractions. Babies have a way of tricking us into thinking they’re coming when they’re not actually ready yet! That’s all I can think of for now. Sorry for the epic essay!!! Good luck, you will be fine. Giving birth is the most amazing experience 💜

If you plan on getting epidural you want to head to the hospital much sooner than contractions being 1 minute apart. If you are to far into labor they cannot do epidural

Hey honey! It’s normal to feel those type of pains (stretching) up high & also normal to be apprehensive but you got this! She will come out when she’s ready. I remember I couldn’t wait for mine to come out & then after being sleep deprived a few weeks afterwards, I wished I could put her back in! LOL! I was 3 weeks late & heard that anywhere between 1 month before your due date & 1 month afterwards can be expected & isn’t necessarily a bad thing. No matter what, she’s going to be PERFECT because she was created by YOU Marlena!

I have cool-toned porcelain skin and blue-gray eyes and graying ash-brown hair with natural auburn highlights. Warm browns are fine and bring out the blue, but cool browns, true taupes and cool bronzes are better. Those oranges and super warm tones fight with all of my cool coloring.

You could use color contacts to demonstrate the looks so we could see how it makes the different colors pop. Just a thought. I have dark blue/grey eyes. If I wear the warmer bronze/orange/terra-cotta colors it brings out the blue. I have noticed that if I wear purple it dulls the blue and they look more grey, which I prefer. However, I think brown eyes are by far the most beautiful color. I’ve always wanted brown eyes but have a phobia of sticking objects into my eyes (so I’m scared of contacts). It's a great video. But I've got one question. Usually (of course not always) people with blue eyes have cool undertone. Those coral/orange colours make my eyes really stand out but they seem to make my whole complexion a bit tired, sometimes people ask me if I am sick 🙈 When I go for more cool/neutral eyeshadows my whole face looks just better. “Baby Wise” is a book written by husband/wife authors who had triplets. Read the chapter that talks about schedules. LIFE SAVER!!! I had twins and we read the book when they were 4 months old. FINALLY got some sleep. It’s a short read, but if anything, at least try the chapter on Schedules! Good luck and congratulations!

Babies typically gain 1/2# every week from here on out so the pains are normal. I left my niece’s baby info in my other post, she had identical twin girls on March 25th, 6 weeks early. My first baby, also a daughter (and now mother to my 4 grandchildren: Andrew will be 18 in Oct, Alexander/Alex will be 11 in Nov, Mason will be 8 in Sept, and Kahlia who will be 2 also in Nov (just 3 days earlier than her brother ALEX!). My water broke around 9:30-10:00 PM the Saturday before Father’s Day. My dad and I were getting ready to take a walk, I’d felt restless that day, and as we descended the stairs, I felt a gush. I didn’t really have many contractions until after midnight, which is when I was admitted. My BFF was my labor coach, she was a nursing student at the time and, coincidentally, on her maternity nursing rotation. She got extra credit for being there!! At 1:00 AM I was 1cm. At 3:00 AM I was 3cm and getting stronger contractions. At 5:00 AM I was 5cm and in a lot of pain (no epidural back in 1982!) so I got a shot of something (hard to remember back 38 years!) to take the edge off. At 6:00 AM I told my friend to get the nurse because I had to push. She and the nurse kept arguing until I was ADAMANT and she checked me, I was 10cm. I started pushing and at 6:59 AM on Father’s Day, I gave my dad his first grandchild, she weighed 6# 9-oz. Unfortunately, she was the only grandchild he lived to see. She was his pride and joy. He went to church that morning and told everyone I had a beautiful little girl...he’d yet to see her!!! He just knew, he wasn’t at all biased. You’ll do fine, just listen to your body and, when in doubt, CALL YOUR OB or hospital maternity ward or just go to the hospital. Good luck Marlena! Positive birth story - my son was a smooth, easy childbirth! Contractions are intense but epidurals are life saving! I actually had them turn off the epidural prior to pushing! Ended up having him in 5 minutes! Healthy as can be! Don’t stress - your body was made to do this!❤️

I have blue eyes, but I tend to reach for mauves, cranberry, plum colors as well as greens. I guess I like cool colors on my eyes although I think I have a golden skin tone. I got matched once at a Mac counter with NC 20. I consider myself more neutral toned.

Marlena just a heads up, brown is usually a very deep dark orange shade. Your color wheel includes hues (colors) and tints (hue + white) but is missing shades (hue + black). I hope that helps!

To me labor pain felt like back pain just a throbbing then it’s over but it’s basically how you feel cramps no big deal they hurt but you have felt them every month for your adult life some woman like to scare the crap out of people. The key relax and just find your happy place for me I’m a counter and then it’s over but we all deal with pain differently. Just admit to yourself when it’s to much take your epi and just go with it the more you stress the worse it is just find your happy place we all have one. You will be fine.

Ladies with blue eyes, I didn’t have any peachy eye shadows so I improvised by using Milano blush Luminoso as a substitute and it looked beautiful!

I'm adding these plum, and fuchsia shades to my MUG running tally for my next order! Is smudging powder, or liner along the lower lash line an age appropriate technique to do, Marlena? I'm so nervous about putting shadow under my lower lash line, either too far down, or too thickly along my lower lash line, because I'm old now (I just turned 59 last Sunday!)! If I do wear anything, I only wear a thin line of powder usually under the outer third; sometimes I go without, and I don't wear mascara on my lower lashes either. I did some clinical Obstetrics when I worked with an excellent family practitioner! I went to university as an R.N. to complete my post diploma science degree in nursing! By the third trimester, women can have various upper abdominal pains, and sensations related to gas, and constipation, heartburn, acid reflux, muscular strain, the sensation of skin stretching, as well as Braxton Hicks ( the muscle of the uterus contracts, and it's known as false labour). During this time, the uterus starts to crowd the abdominal organs to accommodate the growing baby, and hormone levels such as progesterone can contribute to these issues, Marlena. These sensations, and pains are quite common, and are usually not harmful to Mom, or baby. Call your midwife or doc, just to be cautious, if you also have an accompanying fever, nausea and vomiting, intense itching, or vaginal bleeding, or if the pain you are experiencing is very intense, constant, and it is located in a specific location. I think what you’re describing is your little bundle is having a wriggle and a stretch and if you think about it - it will be their legs and bottom pushing under your ribcage and abdomen, perfectly normal, but they’re getting ready to stretch out to the big, wide world. Also my theory is that all day long you’re walking and doing jobs and rocking them off to sleep, the minute you lie flat and stop rocking is when they wake. So, PLEASE, try and rest during the day so that after they’re born they have their awake time during the day so that you can get some sleep at night. Take care and stay safe Much love Sandy 🥂💕 l
