Very good explanation!!! Couple of issues I'm having though with DSPs and Epicenters/bass processors. I have a Stetson Bluetooth processor that I'm considering installing before my preamps to clean up the sound from the head unit before any further amplification. I'll have 4 channels of selectable A, B and AB outputs (or combined as 2 since 1 output has to be split to connect an amp from one output. Meaning 1&2 would be a left and right if used straight). Using it this way I could tune channel 1 however I like and run it to the preamp let's say on the right input, #2 however would be on the left input both controlled by the preamp fader as a mids and highs preamp. Channels 3 and 4 would go to the inputs of the second preamp for midbass/midrange and bass. I think this would increase my tuning capabilities. I also think DSPs have the same features as Epicenters. Select the frequency in the parametric EQ (sweep), adjust it's Q (wide), boost or cut, adjust gain, etc. with tons of more tuning options. The preamps I use have subsonic filters from 30-300hz.

I have the same thing . Can I use my epic center bass only but it's a under dash style how would connect this and dsp? Can you help me?
@moasto023 жыл бұрын
I split the Right and Left of the front and back EQ outputs going to my DSP inputs so that I can use the fader on the EQ as balance. Then I set up the eq on the DSP the way I want it with the analog EQ set at flat. And now I can use the analog EQ to fine tune how the DSP is set. AND I'm using using the EQ as my bassknob. Good stuff. Thanks for your help bro.

What about crossover
@12voltfever5 ай бұрын
@@eliezerbrito301 there is no need to add a crossover to the DSP as it has built in high pass and low pass crossovers for each output. However, some people prefer a traditional analog crossover on their bass so if you wanted to have one fed off the DSP just use 1 or 2 outputs on the DSP and connect to the input on the 3-way crossover. Just make sure the DSP crossover is set to 10hz-20000hz.

I dont have a dsp i have a crossover and 2 equalizers and a pioneer double din head unit,how do i connect the 2 equalizers?

That's not how u would do that.. u could use 1 eq and use the sub control ur using the routing feature backwards
@12voltfever2 жыл бұрын
Yeah but then you only have control over the level and not the frequency. When talking pro audio subwoofers on extreme car audio applications, you want to be able to adjust the level but also the 50hz and 125hz.
@12voltfever2 жыл бұрын
This is also how pretty much everyone with mids and highs setup with EQs uses the routing feature.

Is there any way to control bass from the dsp? Without a eq ? It would be nice to control the bass depending on songs played .
@12voltfever2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you would install an external RCA bass knob in-between the DSP output and amplifier input

This method must be for bassheads or something. Cause this is definitely a faux pas in the sound quality game.

This is not for "SQ", this is for competition Pro Audio systems.

This guy said you can install up to 8 equalizer if you do it this way which is backwards. I’m confused here. You think this is right? kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXfIcqt5eNKUn7Msi=FEi38V40fqu-U63q

I will make a video testing both setups. I believe its better to have the EQ BEFORE the DSP. After the DSP, you no longer have limiter protections and you're overriding the crossover. Most dominicans and puerto ricans will not use limiters anyways.

Is it the same way for the taramps dip?

You can put 4 eq all you need to do is route a to channel 1&2 And route b to 3&4 A is front from the radio B is rear from the radio
@12voltfever3 жыл бұрын
No... Then you lose individual control. The point of using the EQ is to have each one controlling 1 output. Putting two of them together on one input is pointless.

If you have a DSP without an EQ it’s not a DSP

The DSP has an EQ inside. Both graphic and parametric.

*why on earth would you add an EQ to a dsp lmao.. the dsp IS AN EQ and so much more, that an EQ could never do for you. The DSP ought to have 32bands or so, the eq only has 7. The DSP can eq each speaker, time alignment..etc.. the EQ isn't going to do any of that lol. Old heads need to either just run an eq and stay in the 90s, or just run a dsp. You're wasting money, potential of your system and most importantly YOUR EARS.*

Not true. I have a ds18 pro eq and without a processor the signal isn’t clean enough even w an alpine head unit. Had to get a bass processor and a dsp, now it’s perfect
@redacted61153 жыл бұрын
This is all redundant. Why do you this extra work for an eq that won't even be individual. Just get a dsp with proper software. Dayton DSP is cheap, jl twk is good, helix is the best route.

If you actually read the comments you would know that this is for competition purposes where you need on the fly adjustment, not for the average joe
