I've had the j-scan for my jku for about 2 years now. I love it. I think the biggest thing that helped me was after I replaced the transmission myself. Your supposed to take it to the dealership to putnit in a transmission relearn or your new transmission will NOT work correctly. With the scan the option is there to put it into the relearn mode. It saved me $140 that the dealer wanted to charge. The other big thing is turning off the annoying seat belt chime every 2 seconds if your not wearing it.
@GoChangeYaLife2 ай бұрын
That's pretty awesome! It's those things that the dealership charges you for that add up. $140 is a lot to just put the pcm into relearn mode. Glad you were able to do it yourself and save that money. I've been using jscan for 4yrs on all of our chrysler vehicles. I move a lot of stuff around our properties and I was just telling myself today that I need to turn off the seatbelt chime. Just haven't gotten around to it. Maybe now that you've brought it to my attention, I'll use jscan to change it. Lol. Great job. Glad it's working out for you.

Great job! Already have a Tazer Lite but I can't upgrade my HVAC without upgrading my Tazer to a Mini version for another $130. I will be going JSCAN for all the additional features and the ability to do actual scan codes and that HVAC upgrade. So glad you pointed out the iCar Pro Bluetooth adapter works great for the JLs, I have that on order. Look forward to checking out the rest of your channel, keep up the good work :)

Yes. Couple things. You won't get the fancy light show that you get with Tazer or there's one other thing you don't get. And yes, the bluetooth adapter works for the JLs. Getting the right adapter is important. I think there's 3 or 4 that Jscan will actually work with. Thank you very much! I appreciate the support. We learn from each other. Throw a comment back in when you start using Jscan and let us all know how it's working out for you. Stay safe out there!🙏

Yo, what's up? I use the Stinger Heigh10. It's pretty expensive, but I like it. There are other cheaper android brands. I had one of those cheaper brands in our JK for awhile, but it was slow and laggy. It finally was on it's way out and I decided to upgrade with the Stinger. I liked it so much that I put one in this jeep too. But, yea you're right, there ara a lot of off brands. If it were me and I just wanted to try one of those off brands, I would try and find someone that's had one for awhile and still works. And they'll let you check it out. Too much sketchy stuff out there to be taking chances. Lol

Thanks for the video, I connected my jscan for the first time today and registered my vin to a license, scroll around a bit, I ordered new tires today, going from 33'' to 37" , I have a question that I can't seem to find a definitive answer to, after I change the size and "save" do I need to restart all ecu ? For it to save
@GoChangeYaLife7 ай бұрын
Thank you!🙏 It's different for different settings. It will usually tell you after you do the change whether you have to or not. I can't remember whether I had to or not. But if you follow what it tells you, you will be ok. I will give you two tips. 1. Always (no matter what) go back in and double check after each change to make sure the settings actually changed. That way you will know whether you did the procedure correct or not. 2. To get the correct tire size, don't just use 37". Either (A) Put your tires at the pressure that you're going to drive with and measure the circumference. Or (B) Go to your tire manufacturer's website and get the specs on there. They should list the circumference on their site.
@edselbritting97927 ай бұрын
@ChangeYoLife just wanted to touch base with you, I got the 37's installed Thursday, you were correct, when I made the changes it instructed me exactly what to do, close and open door twice, than walk the key fob away from the vehicle for 5 minutes.. logged back in and double checked and the new dimensions took, compared to gps speedo was out initially 10mph at 70, after the correction its out 2 mph at 80 , thanks again for sharing your experience and knowledge with us newbies

Thank you! Yes, I do have a Stinger Radio. In both jeeps. There is no conflict with the Stinger and Jscan. All of the changes you make with Jscan doesn't interfere with the operation of the Stinger Radio.

I actually switched FROM the Jscan, to the Tazer JL Mini. Mainly because the Tazer is much more featured...and also less of a PITA because it's just plugged in always.. The Jscan also isn't super informational in my opinion.. (Menus and stuff are kinda confusing) When I had the JSCAN I got the extension cables though, because it was MUCH easier to deal with plugging and unplugging though.
@GoChangeYaLife2 жыл бұрын
I understand. Everyone has their reasons and a lot of times one works better than the other for a lot of people. But I've been using Jscan for 2 years with no issues. Don't want to change what works. I don't have to leave it connected and I use it on 5 different vehicles. MY JT, my wife's JKU, and my parent's Ram, Caravan, and Charger. Got all the licenses for less than $150. So, I'm just sticking with what works. The extra features that the Tazer has like light show and turn assist don't appeal to me. 35yrs of offroading and I never needed. I'm an old school guy.😂😂😂
@trailtothevoid2 жыл бұрын
@@GoChangeYaLife I fully get that. Things like being able to hold the Traction Control button to turn off the full system and stuff like that are really what drew me to the Tazer, plus other things like...Adding front camera, turn cam, license plate light turn off on backup, cooldown mode (huge to me when pulling my trailer)
@GoChangeYaLife2 жыл бұрын
@@trailtothevoid Some of that stuff the Jscan will do. It's just called different for copyright purposes. But, it does do things like traction control and cooldown mode. Jscan just doesn't do that light show. Yet. Haha! And I have a 4 camera setup on mine anyway. But, the truth is that these companies like Tazer, Jscan, flashcal, etc. are like vehicle manufacturers. They all come out with new features constantly to keep up the competition and trends. Like the new Bronco. Toyota will probably come out with a new 4runner in the next five years with double the features of the Wrangler and Bronco. Lol

Okay so you’ve changed your tire size but your speedometer is still a little off. My tire is 33.8” and so I put in 33.75” but I’m still off 1-2mph when I’m going 60mph.
@GoChangeYaLife Жыл бұрын
1-2miles off isn't that bad, but I understand you want it to be right. I would try the next size up and see what happens. Also, did you measure it yourself or did you use the measurements from the manufacturer's website? Also, on certain tires, it depends on air pressure. For example, Some tires like Patagonias run at higher pressure which would change the crown which would change the measurements.
@Aceinfinity-le8zc Жыл бұрын
So you just put the tire size as close to the measured size as possible?
@GoChangeYaLife Жыл бұрын
Yes. But don't just put in 35, 37, 40, etc. Either measure the circumference (like you mentioned) or go to the tire manufacturers website and get the circumference.

@@GoChangeYaLifeI’m doing this right now… you have to buy the license for it to do it?
@GoChangeYaLife Жыл бұрын
@@Dwq47 Yes. But it's a one time fee. And it's not that expensive. With the cables, obd II module, and license, it's still considerably less than any othe the others. If you have more than one Dodge/chrysler/mopar vehicle, I recommend purchasing a multi license. That way you can use it on all of them. But yes, purchase the license. Once you realize the amount of things you can do, it's worth it. And it's always updating.
