I always measure 2 cups of water for each cup of rice eg. 3 cups rice with 6 cups of water and let it steam on low heat, covered. Works like a charm. Nice and shelly😁

Boil 3 cups water, add tablespoons salt and 2 cups long grain rice, bring to a boil again, lower (very low) heat cover and simmer for 20 mins.

It looks like you did not let the water come to a rolling "boil" You just let it simmer on med heat until water evaporated. I think most of us start out boiling the rice and then lowering the heat. I am going to try with the lower heat to start. I love how your rice is always "shelly".

I think when the rice is cooked very loose Jamaicans say the rice is Shelly. That means it's not soft like porridge.

This broad is making a simple process complicated I spent thousands of dollars in culinary school just to have my aunt teach me how to cook rice 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water (2 to 1 ratio) Add salt (or not) Bring to a boil and cover with lid Once boiling bring to a simmer When steam stops coming from side of lid Turn off flame Let stand 15min and you have perfect rice

Like your video but the only downside is the washing of the rice . Vitamins are added to the rice . The label on the bag will let you not to wash the rice. Check the label on your rice before washing it . Ben’s original rice label says Vitamins are added , to retain vitamins do not wash .

Most chefs rinse rice before they cook it so it won't stick together and be mushy. I do this and it helps a lot, so she knows what she is talking about. @@SeanCollier-s8n

Good Lawd she talks too much and her voice is annoying for one and for two that is not how you cook rice . 3 cups rice 6 cups water , 2 cups rice 4 cups water . Bring to a boil then let simmer do not- I repeat DO NOT open the lid until the water is gone .
