One thing that I learned during 05 years searching about on how to be productive, happy and develop personal fulfilment, is that the more we occupy ourselves worrying about the rules that tell us "how to or how not do to something or live", the more we will feel unhappy and anxious. The most effective change that I've made in my life was to stop worrying about a productive lifestyle and starting doing my best every moment, even if my best is being a couch potato for a day. After this, I noticed that I started paying more attention to the present and enjoying myself at where I am at the moment. Sometimes I feel that stuffs like "my 4am morning routine" it's just an act of theater that we play for ourselves to try to escape from the reality of being imperfect, imprevisible and human being. After all, we like to pretend that we are in control of our lives. It is important to do our best, but it can put ourselves in madness if it is on high levels. Well, I should finally say that Rowena is a pretty comedian and I love her videos. 💕✨

I totally agree! And the 4am, 5am thing is completely bonkers when the majority of the population is *genetically programmed by their own DNA* to wake up around 7, 8am (it's called your chronotype). We all have to delight in our uniqueness and figure out what works for ME, not about what that influencer says.

Dropping a comment to say thank you for this series Rowena, it really comes at the perfect time for me. I'm currently on a medical leave for various reasons, including having burnt myself out and being so stressed out 24/7 that it really negatively effected my physical and mental health. I hope in the next video you'll show some of the apps and software that we see in this video that you like to use!

11:00 don't doubt yourself, Roweni. The moment you mentioned the triangle getting larger, I immediately thought of someone spread themselves thin and using more energy trying to be different people and going back and forth; so the moment you said exactly what I was thinking I got excited for the confirmation lol

I love the idea of tapping into different energies and turning practices into habits. However, I'm struggling with keeping a positive mindset through the entire process. Do you have any suggestions? Love all your content btw!

Listen to positive affirmations before and always write your goals and affirmations in your journal before starting your day! It has helped me a lot 😊
@pankreas21954 жыл бұрын
For me it's just to keep going, no matter how shitty you feel. I've been trying to accept that I don't need to be feeling good in order to function. In other words, trust the process and reassure yourself at the end of everyday that *you're doing great* even if deep down you don't believe it. It's ok not to be ok through it all.
@muminahsalaam4 жыл бұрын
I would recommend that you treat your self the way you would treat the person that you love the most. With tenderness and kindness. Habits stick easier when you don't judge the process. Don't compare yourself to someone else or even to your past self. It leads to overthinking and anxiety. Don't judge yourself when you feel like you mess up. Just lovingly process it and kindly nudge yourself in the right direction. You owe it to yourself to care about your growth. And lastly there is no need to be rush it or feel like you have to create a super rigid comprehensive system. There is no deadline. You run on a different frequency from everyone else. I hope this helps❣️☺️

I’ve always told myself I “NEED” to do this. What I hadn’t considered was the fact that by “forcing” myself to do something I actually became less productive. 🤔
@lmelki894 жыл бұрын
I love how Rowena is so adorable and really teaches you to do the things instead of telling you to do stuff. It's really enjoyable to watch! But after a whole lot of awareness phase (thanks quarantine) I realized that I can successfuly get motivated and build a routine that works only for it to be ruined by... people. I mean, not actually people, but the way they make me react to them. Take my academic advisor for instance. I'm writing my thesis and she drives me insane. She's not really a bad person, but she's quite unpredictable, judgemental and overbearing. Dealing with her drains all my energy away, causing me to get really anxious and unmotivated. I love what I do, but sometimes people just ruin it for me and I don't know what to do to deal with it when just burning bridges is not an alternative. Talking about the issue with her not only didn't work but made it worse. Could something in my routine help me in dealing with how I react to people?
@rowena4 жыл бұрын
thank you so much for your words Luisa 🙏🏻💕 as for how we react to people and external situations, I believe it still all stems from the internal. as cliche as it sounds, perhaps try journaling or meditating on your situation (and in general) so that you can cultivate a calm mind and compassionate heart no matter what situation you’re in. this will allow you to have a buffer and moment to pause, take a step back, and reflect before reacting any type of way in more stressful or trying circumstances as the only person we can truly control is ourselves. I’m paraphrasing teachings from my spiritual practice, Falun Dafa-hope it was helpful 😌

It's hard for me to fathom that some people genuinely feel energized sometimes. My life is just one big dip, no peaks, no energy.
@Kim-mw6xw4 жыл бұрын
Meditation has REALLY helped me with this. I’ve watched/read countless interviews of people who are very productive and a good amount of them mention meditation as giving them energy, focused and calm mood. It also made me more focused and able to complete baby steps that definitely were affecting my energy like: getting physical check up & psych check up, getting my vitamin d levels checked, hydrating, consistently going to bed early, having healthy breakfast, exercise, hygiene, doing pomodoro sessions etc etc. Keeping a consistent sleep schedule seemed to be the biggest thing that made everything else seemingly easy. But for me, meditation me helped get on a sleep schedule as it energized me in the morning, focused me during the day, and calmed me at night. It kinda reminds me of the fast food analogy where fast food can be easy and make us feel full/satisfied but healthy food is the one that would actually keep us energized and satisfied. Waiting to get into an energetic mindstate via caffeine or other means besides healthy sleep/food/exercise/meditation really doesn’t work. At least for the long run.

One thing I don't think you explicitly say that I think is really good and links in a lot - schedule yourself your self care - i.e I need an afternoon nap and my whole life has got so much better when I excepted this and made time for it. I used to try to force myself to stay awake and berate myself. Not productive and adding shame.

I think notion could be helpful but i don't use it regularly and it's kind of too big/complex of an app for quotes onlyyy. //Sorry this comment is so random but i really love how you get to quote for every topic from what you read or watch! @lyleanga3854 жыл бұрын
Hi CC you can organize it by category, for instance digital and physical collection of quotes. In your computer you can create a swipe files folder which basically means a collection of photos or screenshots of quotes you found somewhere, when it comes to physical you can highlight it in your book, put bookmarks or small sticky notes on the page, you can also print, cut out and many more. With this, when you feel inspired or feel like want something to talk about, you can scan through your swipe file folders. I hope this helped. :)

also the triangle you came up with is backed by psychology! i learnt this in one of my classes: in humanist psychology it’s known as congruence. the more consistent your ideal self is with your real self, the higher the congruence :) congruence between the two leads to all the good stuff like trusting your judgment and ability, having self-direction, and feeling self-actualised!

14:40 if life were really a game and if you could beat it, then there would be no point in living, right? Life really is a never-ending journey. You keep improving yourself, you keep levelling up, and there is no limit, it's infinite, how far you can go. And I think that's the beauty of this journey, of life. And because it is so never ending and infinite in nature, this is where a lot of internal things can come out, like frustration, being impatient or overly critical of yourself... Just be mindful along this whole journey, to be kind to yourself, to be good to yourself, to be patient with yourself, and to take care of yourself. (Rowennaaaaaaaa why are you so wise!! )
