It took me several hours to complete my first petal, but between the pattern and Arne’s demonstration I figured it out! Thrilled! Haven’t crocheted for several decades and had forgotten everything. 🤩🤩🥳🥳 Excited to work on this beautiful project!!

Hello from the Philadelphia suburbs on the east coast of the United States! Such an easy pattern, and very pretty! Not too many stores sell the Catania cotton yarn in the US. I ordered the exact yarn from Etsy, and Love Crafts. ebay has a few colors for sale as well. Some European sellers will not ship to the US during the Pandemic. I would suggest, when crocheters find Catania yarn, feel free to select different colors from the pattern.

The white 'filler' flowers between the 'daisies' look like a tablecloth my great grandmother made. Hanna Jonsdotter from Glimakra, Sweden emigrated to the U.S. in 1888 - I think of her (and my grandmother, who taught me) every time I crochet! Thanks for the memories!

For a wedding gift, this square tablecloth pattern would be lovely crocheting the 36 flowers in three shades in the off-white color family. 12 ivory, 12 cream, and 12 khaki. Light, medium, and dark shades. (Catania color card shows #105 natur, #130 crème, and #248 leinen, for example) The flower centers would be a contrasting shade from the petals; for instance, cream petals with a khaki center. Or if you find a fourth off-white shade, you could use that one shade for all the centers. The area around the flowers would be pure white, as shown in the video. I think the combination of pure white used with shades of off-white is very beautiful.
