Crochet curls are made easily using the foundation crochet method of making a chain 1 followed by 3 double crochet stitches, then repeat. No need for a long starting chain (do I chain 20? 30? how do I get a 12 inch curl?) that may or may not be the correct length. Curls are built from the bottom and worked upwards, so that it's easy to get the proper length the first time around without ripping out stitches 😊

I’ve recently fell in love with the long tail cast on for crochet.😊 I’ve knitted for years, so no big deal.

Donna, you are a great teacher! I think that these would be great hanging near preemies so that they grab them instead of IV tubes. As always, I love the bright color yarn that you use and your beautiful nails. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones! MaryAnne in New Mexico USA

Thank you for another great tutorial, what would you use these for? ❤❤
@naztaziaКүн бұрын
When my now-18 year old daughter was like 2 years old, I put these on top of her hat instead of a pompom (which the yarn could come out of). Also would tie them onto hair elastics as she got older for a fun ponytail decoration. I sometimes put them on the tree as icicle ornaments. With thinner yarn I've substituted curling ribbon with these on small gift boxes. These also work as the hair for dolls and fur for animals with crochet toys.

I like the curls but what to do with them?
@naztazia4 сағат бұрын
They work on top of a hat instead of a pompom, connect them to a hair elastic for a ponytail decoration, they can be used as icicle ornaments for a tree, in the past they were made into wiggle worms for kids, for crochet toys they can be used for doll hair, as well as animal hair like in a horse or unicorn.

I think your double crochet-chain (dc-ch) stitch that you're talking about is also known as an extended double crochet (EXdc)
@naztazia4 сағат бұрын
The extended double crochet is used to create a taller double crochet. However, in foundation crochet, which this is, it's easier to think of that extra yarn over as a "chain," since it is creating a starting chain for the subsequent 3 double crochet to go into. Chain, 3 double crochet, chain, 3 double crochet, etc.

Also, what voice over do you use? It sounds robotic, I think it's a good idea ❤❤

That's me speaking in the video. I'm using my teacher voice 👩 🏫
