@@joenavarrobehaviorexpert Yup, all the way back to childhood. If it weren't a girlfriend, it was classmates, or coworkers, or just some predatory individual who picked me to shred. At least I've got a good one now (13 years).

Your key takeaway Joe is setting communicating and sticking to boundaries. It took me 56 years to do this with a toxic mother. She now complains to friends and family that she is now a victim of said boundaries.

The more toxic they are the more they complain. They hate when they lose their favorite chew toy. I hope you are in a better place

So true, when you say the abuser will try and make the other person look like “the bad guy”. My mother does this to me. Good thing she lives thousands of miles away. I bought your book (one of many) and need to re-read it.

I think it is important to be realistic for the sake of your own mind and say, I am not what you paint me to be and I have no obligation to be your chew-toy

Thank you for covering this topic. It's highly actual. Such people indeed harassing others, literally throwing themselves at you. I appreciate your neat opinion and clear advice to distance yourself from any of them without negotiation.

Watching this in the morning before my studies start. Great video! Could you also please make a video where you explain what different emotions typically look like in the face? I think it's hard to find pictures that point out and show the facial expressions (besides the universal ones) like confusion, frustration, guilt, boredness, feeling overwhelmed and so forth.

OH RIGHT!! "deal with professionals" HA HA HA at the present time trying to actually get to see ANY professional is almost impossible. You wait and wait and wait and wait and when you finally actually get an appointment with one, it's a "one off" "one time" appointment. This happened to us. My husband finally got to see a psychiatrist who sat there taking notes the whole time and when we asked if we would be able to see him again he told us no. We would have to apply for another appointment and wait and wait and wait. The system is broken. WE don't have enough health care professionals even mental health care professionals and the system/bureaucracy has designed it this way!!! 😡😡

You are right in many ways. A lot of people I interviewed said the first question they hard when they needed help the most was, "What kind of insurance do you have? Not, how can I help you. They too were frustrated.

How is a woman saying she is carrying a baby, triggering or emotionally unstable? And how is distancing and separating appropriate ?
@joenavarrobehaviorexpert
@joenavarrobehaviorexpert 2 ай бұрын
Carrying a baby is not. Claiming to be pregnant to manipulate is. And it is not just one behavior, to be emotionally unstable there are at least 60 behaviors that have to be there to qualify.
