Thats why I deactivate it... its neither fun nor challenging, sometimes it even benefits you.... Chaos Invasion has been broken since it first came up in game one, and none of the countless changes to it changed that fact. I really Hope they find a challenging Chaos Mechanic for Game 3. See, me, as a player, dont wanna have the Game Auto-End when Chaos shows up, and I don't wanna swoop it away as well. In Game 3 CA needs to show that they can make this feature something interesting an unique. Until then I gave up the Hope chaos will be good or challenging or even interesting at all.

Because then Chaos would just swipe the Board every, EVERY Playthrough simply becaus AI never would be able to handle them even a bit if playes cant beat them.... would be easy to prorgamm them like "Chaos got 90% resistence to everything. pays no Upkeep, has only Elite and Legendary Troops" and so on.... but THAT would be no Fun at all.......... Still i think aswell Chaos needs some Work but thats not a Question of "Power Balancing" more give the Invasion some Features and Twists..... For Example for each Army a Chaos Armie kills, spawn a New Chaos Army somewhere Random on the Map...... or change the Spawn of the Invasion at all, give it more than 1-2 Places to Spawn.... Rather let is attack several Places instead of 1 or 2 Spawn Points which can be "camped" and "fortified" because everyone knows they are comming. Give them a "Random Spawn Turn" or let each single Armie of them Spawn at a random Turn in a Random Area, maybe even activate Trigger events like "If Faction X wipes out Faction Y in the Next 5 Turns near last Settlement of Faction Y spawns a Chaos Army"... or activate Missions/Events which can Twist, Prevent or Change the Way Chaos Spawns and expands. Such things are more likely to give it a Uniqe Feel and make it memorable ^^

@@---ii8hl Not true. Skaven weapon team is not cheese, at least not in field battle. Its not even just spamming a tier 5 unit, yet it makes the game very trivial, because the AI cant handle it, it simply doesnt build proper armies for flanking, doesnt adapt whatsoever... But you can say the same about dwarven armies. Ironbreakers+Bugman rangers+artillery. Again, its not cheese, but will totally demolish almost any army the AI throws at you and for some reason Bugman rangers are completely broken in auto resolve. A bugman doomstack can win against 3 chaos armies in autoresolve with 1-2 unit getting wiped and the rest loosing around 30-40%... (on normal and hard) Also you CANNOT play realistically above normal due the buffs the AI gets. You will have to go magic and ranged heavy because you will simply loose in melee. There is no real way around it. Yes with good economy you can get ahead and in the midgame you will mostly have the technological advantage, but it will disappear around turn 80.

@Vojtěch Martinec Well, their economy is pretty decent but it is still far behind High elves, Skaven and Dark Elves ( and Lizardmen to lesser degree ). Truth be told, all WH1 races are inferior to WH2 core races.

The problem is Terrorgheist stack isnt even good. Its better to just "modernize" skeleton stacks. When you have skeleton spearmen lvl9 and lord with maxed red skill line and a corpse cart in there they can really do a lot more than you would think they can. You still gotta watch out for artillery and ranged units but that's somethign VC are in general very good at. So instead of spamming 19 terrorgheist trash stack its better to just add like 2 of them to every skele stack as well as keeping there 1 or 2 vamps, necromancer on corpse car and maybe even mortis engine. Blood Knights are very good too. I know cavalry isn't the best in this game and that in siege situations you just tell em to wait in the forest but in open field I often manage to get 500 kills with them (including artillery and/or monsters and other cav) You just gotta be careful where you use them but that shouldn't be a problem because those 11-15 skeleton units aren't very micro intensive. EDIT: what I meant by skeletons being good is that they are really punishing to all large units but also hold line very nicely vs non heavy armor infantry. However, if you decide to use some of your magic and/or items, banners etc. on them I once got my skeletons under leadership of Vlad to win 1vs1 vs chaos warriors xD on VH/VH

EHHHHH there are 3 or 4 units with ammo, the cannon and the hunters on horseback. But im guessing the AI armies dont use those very much if at all.

Being a major Vampire the Masquerade fan and the Vampires in Warhammer being heavily influenced by said game I approve of this doomstack!!! Vampires in that game can become strong enough to take out small armies single-handedly. With smart rpg-builds and so on they are close to unstoppable by anything short of mages and direct sunlight.

I love how this is both ridiculous and also fun from a lore perspective. Because a similar situation happened with dark elves attacking archeons army with lots of crossbows. Khorne saw it, hearing archeons plea and fury about the cowardice and sent down his mightiest bloodthirster daemon and consort herself, annihilating everyone. Would be a fun tw3 ability for chaos.

I mean you totaly can rush territory with skelly spam and you can have loads of heroes in general but trait rolling system is very random and even with every-turn-checked-&-dischrged method I could not spam WoM-granting characters in such numbers ( in such stack I would have 320-330 base WoM maximum - 285 from characters yellow WoM skill and all knowledgeable stuff on top of that ) . @@TheSlavek007 every char 19x15wm= 285 + isabela + base wm something around 350 + items items items every char can have another 10to15wm from items easy but let say only 150wm from items + another heroes not in army can have knowledgable special necromancers that are easy to have 20necros on high level for vampires(half of them can have knowlegame that is another 50wm)... 350+150+50=550 something like that. + special places on map + kiling few lords(wm traits)...

I defeated Sigvald in 1 turn, Archaon on the next and Kholek on the 3rd. Can confirm it works in the same way, chaos wiped. I think u just need to wipe them all simultaneously before they have the chance to replace one of the generic lords for one of the defeated ones (I believe it is 4 turns cooldown). So yeah, wipe en before 4 turns of the 1st dieing. Nice vid :P

Lizardmen have a building that levels all heroes by two levels, and Slann Lords by 3 levels. Build at least 10 of those, and you get level 20 heroes and level 30 Slanns. Put the heroes on Dinosaur Mounts, and choose a Life Slann, and bam! You got a stew going. :D

Exactly how much you decide is too much for you, i guess. I mean, I personnally like cheesing because I always found it funny to bully a helpless AI that doesn't understand what you're doing, for some time at least, but if you don't, then just don't. (Plus legendary is doable without cheese afaik, just you might struggle a little more)

I somehow achieved this by complete accident on my first long campaign victory in warhammer 2 with Gelt. It was Gelt and his rockets along with a steamtank doomstack against four chaos doomstacks and I just barely won with gelt and a few nearly dead steamtanks firing into the remaining chaos monsters and hellcannons, felt like well over an hour long. Probably the most epic total war battle I've experienced. It felt so good to get the message afterwards that I'd won because I was definitely not prepared to fast the other tens of chaos armies amassing just behind them.

Probably can’t win against that, because magic doesn’t do much against them and you can’t win in melee, for real that’s pretty much the strongest doom stack in the game

@@changliu7346 I think this would win. You still have access to invocation of never for heals, spirit leeches although not super effective can still be constantly cast and will add up. Also, the vampire hero combat stats are better, they can all have equipment like tormentors sword, helm of discord, health potions, etc.. Also, not all the knights of tor gaval will be able to get hits in at the same time, some will be blocked, so the vampires will be winning single engagements and healing till they aren't outnumbered any more. I could be wrong but based on my own experience I think this would win.

@@SirMcAwesome look at the last part of this battle, that's pretty much gonna happen right away when fighting those griffins. They got so much weapon strength that can just take you out super fast, heal will not be as important as the battle will end real soon and don't forget, they can heal as well. If you take a look at knights of tor gaval each entity in the unit pretty much has the same health as a vampire, and they can heal as well. Sure the vampire got better stats, they got 4 griffins in one unit. I just can't see the vampire stack winning. With that said, you could probably just autoresolve and win lol.

You're all forgetting one of the most important thing with these doomstacks. The guy on the ground. The first one to find it pretty much wins. And if the air fighting counts as a counter to the loss of leadership, then the vampires, as they're faster, could just fight the handmaiden and then avoid contact with the KoTG. One could also add that vampires do not leave the battlefield so the KoTG would lose the battle because they would all route at the same time, while vampires would be taking damage at an increasing speed. So yeah, I think the vampires would actually win against the KoTG but only in a PvP setting. The AI, even with the vampire stack we just saw wouldn't be able to handle it like a player so it would lose. I think the KoTG stack is indeed the strongest army in the game, because it will never lose against any army. The vampire stack too but it's less effective because they can't fight battle after battle the way KoTG can since they come back to full health if none of the models died and even if one of them dies, you can always take on captives to replenish to full. As we saw, this stack wouldn't be able to go through all of the chaos invasion in a single turn if the armies didn't disappear, because 3 vampires are at half health. Hypothetically speaking, if there was a never ending wave of chaos armies coming in, this stack would eventually die, whereas the KoTG wouldn't

@@albericdecarrere8436 I mean, we are not fighting melee blobs here, I would just keep the hero with the rest if the vampires dare to land, they are not getting back up. Plus, we are talking AI here, of course they don't hide heroes. And if you really try that hard to pull off these tricks, like I said the vampires will destroy in autoresolve. I just don't think once the melee happens you would be able to pull the vampires out. Obviously if you could kill the ground unit and run away you are gonna win, the question is can you do it. Obviously there is no way to test this out since AI never gets that unit.

EAF (Emo AIr Force) is my favourite doomstack in this game so far. Late game I would replace that varghulf with another vamp and use high level banshee agent to destroy walls instead though.

That doomstack gets even better with the black perephet item, it gives and arcane conduit and reduces local region magic resist. Which means bonus damage for all those spirit leaches and additional winds.

@@jahanrudge1063 I believe its a bit random, can happen when your lord(or AI) is wounded in battle, but still win afterwards, then sometimes the lord is still there with 1hp after battle. Very likely due to another bug knowing CA.
