I should have never watched your videos. I got a good soft light and went around my new truck, sadly, there are tons of defects and imperfections in the paint. I will be a busy bee this weekend. I found you by searching the correct way to ceramic coat. In my search I got the final vid of this car, now I am watching the pre-cleaning prior to ceramic. You are a scholar in this industry. I wish you were in my city! This car looks amazing in the final video. Note: same color as my new F150, Rapid Red.

Oh, on a side note, I appreciate you posting the video a while back about POLISH ANGEL and how well those products work. While yes, they are very expensive compared to other products out there, one thing about Polish Angel..........THEY WORK incredibly well! I bought the Master series of products (Master Compound, Master Polish, and Master Sealant), along with Rapid Waxx as the topper and maintenance product. I love the Master Series, especially master sealant!. The only minor issue I had was with Rapid Waxx which I think I am applying WAY too much, so it was a little harder to remove than the Master Series of products, but again, it's probably me applying way too much. I might try their HIGH GLOSS spray sealant after the Rapid Waxx is gone as I have heard High Gloss is a really good companion product to Master Sealant. I also absolutely love their DIVER glass cleaner, and their SUPER SPORTS wheel sealant. Another one I love is GLISSANTE car wash. Those three are the best "maintenance" products on the market for their particular areas (Wash, Glass, and Wheels) hands down, and I have tried literally HUNDREDS over the years. GLISSANTE doesn't have hardly any foaming ability which I know would turn off a lot of people, but it has a ton of lubricity and slickness and with me keeping my car so clean anyway, it works perfectly as a maintenance wash product.

Sandro my friend, I don't think dealerships will ever adopt safe car washing techniques. It's just way cheaper to use one bucket of soapy water to get through about 10 cars with a brush. Unless its a higher end car manufacturer, most dealerships only care about maximizing profits. (10 years in a dealership service department)

I don’t think dealerships know about the safe car wash practices, they just hire a regular general worker and give them retail car wash products, during this COVID pandemic I sent my car in for a service, they said they won’t be washing it due to COVID related reasons but eventually ended up washing it and marring the paint, although detailing is becoming popular there are still a lot of people who still can’t tell the difference between a detailing service and a car wash.

The detailers, yardies etc at the dealerships know these methods. They do it at home and on the side (bro in law is one). The problem is 1. they dont have the time. They are forced to do a whole car in and out in 30 min. 2. They are not given the tools to do it properly. They are told wash and go.... NEXT

Hi Sandro, I hope that people realise how much much effort you really put into these videos. They are the best on KZbin, no doubt about that. My question is, why do you spray on the snow foam, and rinse it off before the hand wash? Wouldn’t leaving the snow foam on the car save more water, provide more lubrication and also provide more cleaning power? I’m sure you have a very good reason, so I’m looking forward to hearing it!
@CarCraftAutoDetailing

When I bought my first new car 6 years ago, I took the keys right after it came off of the truck and drove it into the shop for PDI; there no was chance for the "detailers" to get to it. I kept that car completely swirl free until the day I gave it away to my sister. Fast forward to a few months ago, I bought my second new car and it arrived at the dealership when I was off for a week on vacation...I'm now going to have to do atleast a 1 stage correction. Yes Sandro, inspection is key before doing any type of work on a vehicle. I had the experience with a new car that front windshield was kind of scratched and with photos I demonstrated my client it wasn't me. I also corrected the windshield with rayon pad and the Cerium, later used GlassParency's product as protection. I asked the client if he requested the dealer to detail the vehicle and the answer was yes. So possibly the scratch was caused there or by vehicle transport. I always advise people not to let the car dealer to detail a car or have them use Ceramic coating because of the awful job they do by not preparing it adequately and never know exactly which product was used. Xoxo from Puerto Rico 👍🇵🇷

Why do manufacturers not deliver new cars with a vrap to take off on delivery as porshe does, so that the vehicle arrives new without scratches etc ... It is shameful at this price to have a new vehicle to correct !. Even the gear knob, pedals, and all parts prone to streaks, scratches are protected for delivery in perfect condition, and protective vrap and tape is not very expensive for them! I don't understand 😏 Otherwise nice car

Hey Sandro, awesome video as always! I need your thoughts on something.... I bought Turtle Wax Compound and Turtle Wax Polish. I have used them combined with a DA speed 4-5 and some SPTA 6 inch foam pads. I have tried the polishes and pads on different vehicles and I have the idea that its making more micro marring than removing. I also tried a finish pad with the Polish to give gloss and I suspect that even with that "harmless combination" some micro marring have showed up....What are your thoughts on that ?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
I unfortunately don’t have any experience with the SPTA pads and I just haven’t had a great experience with Turtle Wax compounds and polishes in the past, but I know some people have. The reason you’re getting marring in the finish could be due to a lot of things so I really can’t say for sure. It could be that you’re compounding marks are aggressive and aren’t being refined in you’re polishing stage, or it could be that you’re polish and pad combination and technique is creating that marring itself, especially if the paint is. Using less polish can sometimes help finish better, but quite honestly mate it could be so many things, so I can only guess. The video I did on polishing soft paint may help explain things a little better if thats the issue.
@Steathl
@Steathl 3 жыл бұрын
The thing is that, this time I only used a finishing pad with the polishing liquid to give gloss and lock it with the ceramic...now is glossy but with micro marring (its nothing too bad but still, you know that we want perfection) . Is just frustrating. I bought this polishes to try them out because they are cheap, and the spta pads as well. Thanks for the reply mate.

Hey Sandro! I've just bought a brand new Hilux and have been driving it for the past week. I've just purchased UK3.0 as well as some Gliss to use as protection. Do you think that it'd be acceptable to thoroughly wash the car, use an iron remover, and then apply the coatings? I've never polished a car before, and I don't plan on attempting it on a brand new car. Cheers!
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
Yes it’s completely acceptable! Polishing the paint will give you better results, longevity and performance from a coating but it in no ways means you can’t coat a car without paint correction. It just means that it may not last or perform quite as well.

My old man just picked up his new kia gt on Friday. It was absolutely disgusting to see how they delivered it, there's scrathes all over the body ! They said that they clayed it and washed it and all I've seen is maring, scratches, water spots and on the back when the boot opens, so much impurities in the paint ! I showed my old man after going round it and he was in tears and pissed off! Seriously how can a dealership hand over a car like that? Looks like I've got a lot of work to do.

@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Well mate, My partner picked up her new Golf final edition on Wednesday and it was an absolute disgrace! She asked them not to touch it and they refused, said that they can't hand over a dirty car. Well when she went there, to pick it up, there was marks all over it and bird shit ! She was very upset and when she pointed out the bird shit, the guy went to flick it off, to she yelled at him and he went and got a cloth and water. So when she got home, she went to clean it better and the colour of the cloth was black , we're seriously pissed off. Today it went to the detailer and he was shaking his head and showed her more marks, scratches and maring. I don't know how dealerships can have any pride in what they do, I'd be ashamed to hand over a brand new car that dirty ! Like you said mate, dealerships use old equipment and don't wash cars correctly.
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
It’s a difficult situation as you’ve already paid for the car when you pick it up and they know that! I always let my customers inspect the car under good lights before the pay and I never rush them, and that’s the real difference - once they have you’re money they just want you to shut up and go away! These aren’t necessary bad people and most of the time the customer is unaware of the defects, it’s just the whole way the process works that needs to be addressed and if people don’t complain and hold them accountable nothing will ever change.

How big of a risk are there to marr the paint when working in a fallout remover or a tar remover with a Microfiber cloth? It just doesnt feel right for me to do it, and i feel like i risk marring the paint just as much as when im using the clay... Whats your take on it? 😊
@CarCraftAutoDetailing

As long as the paint is free from loose dirt and you’re using a clean cloth with little pressure, the risk is minimal and far less than claying the paint without a doubt.

Yes, it’s not the person who isn’t given the time or proper training to do it, it’s those in charge that ok it, but it will only change if the customers call them out, and gets them to rectify the issues which will end up costing them more money than just doing it right to start with.

@@CarCraftAutoDetailing the only way for dealerships to do this is if they fully admit what the admin fee includes. $400-$600 for bunch of paper work? If I see fat people working in a dealership. I know for a fact they're living the life. Dealerships just need to admit that admin fees is to pay people to wash their cars or just breakeven and meet their quota for the month. It'll never change due to so much false advertisement from their office. I worked at volkswagen before during the recall scandal in Canada. And I'm happy to say in Ottawa, you have a few owners that own multiple dealerships. In Vancouver, you have one owner that owns about 25 dealerships. Majority of them put out false advertisement just so customers can show up to the dealership and the sales representative will clown you around to make you forget about the sales and you'll forget the $3000 rebates they advertised Nature of the game. Alot of dealerships are crooks and the government of Canada also knows this. Golf R still amazing car though,,☺️

As much as I hate those dealership owners, managers, business as usual, the dealerships barely make any money on car washing and delivery. The bill of sales have shit like $400-$600 admin fees which is bullshit. Some of those high fees go to the time it takes to deliver a car or contractors dealership pay at a detail shop to prepare the car. If you want top end quality, expect around $70-$120/ hour on a vehicle never been detailed before after years, and the customer have 1-3 kids. This could run 4-9 hours depending in the job excluding breaks. I seen a local detail flex his rupes tools to me but at the same time I seen him and his team abuse compressed air by blowing dirt into the cracks and crevices of the vehicles. I quit after a week of their false advertisement on their pricing and website. Some of you meathead bmw and benz owners need to chill, if you can lease/finance $1000 plus a month but can't afford a detail and complain about the pricing. "You ain't special enough to care"

There is no such thing as a "Brand New" car. Think about it, The car has to be driven from the factory to the holding yard then transported to shipping yard, across the open ocean, driven off the boat to sit in a yard till it get's picked up again, Or driven the distance to the dealership. Left again in a pre sale yard waiting on a pre sale check and "detail" then Sits out side for someone someday to say yes! I'll take that one.

Although I respect this craft of car detaling and paint correction, and I understand that the owner of this kind of shop won't turn the job opportunity down, I think doing such work on a new car is really too much. I mean look at the car! It is new, it looks great, you have to take deep look with a lamp to find defects. Protecting your paint is great but stuff like this can make people always unhappy about micro imperfections which are unavoidable because the car exists to be driven. Then they turn into people who don't drive cars the way they should and end up spending so much money on these services and products but always end up being unsatisfied

Detailing my cars or my customer’s cars has never stopped me or them enjoying enjoying them. If anything it’s only enhanced the experience knowing that the cars look their best and are well protected. There’s no such thing as perfect and all cars will get swirls, scratches and other defects down the track, it’s completely normal and most people are fine with that. But when you spend so much hard earned money on a brand new car it’s nice to get something that reflects that new car experience in that moment even though it will pass. You wouldn’t except a brand new TV with scratches on the screen so why should new car owners except a brand new car with scratches and other defects all over it?
