i would like to say that it depends where the Mustang is built and I know that a Mustang is built in Melbourne but in the UK I have a 2020 Mustang 5.0 V8 GT in velocity blue which I believe was built in Flat Rock Michigan and when I got it about 3 months ago it only had very minor swirl marks and that's all i have actually surprised at how good the finish was tbh and the only correction that's was needed was a once over with finishing compound

Did sandro know about the new shinemate polishers?....sandro is the ambassador of waxit ...the importers of "shinemate" lol...great video sandro...I'm a master car detailer of Melbourne....but don't do detailing anymore...hoping to build a dream workshop like you one day ....I've worked for bayford and nearly every other brand of car over the years....it's an absolute discrace what happens to new cars...I used to run my master detailing business inside mercedes...the car detailers used to have screw fights...throw number plate scews at each other and hide behind new cars...while laughing as the screws landed on the glass and paint of the car....amongst seeing many other toe cringing car destroying practices everyday... probably the world will see a new industry arrive in 10 years time...where it becomes standard to hire a " detailing inspection company" to inspect the car before pickup...and deal with all legal issues ...to prosecute dealerships and retrieve compensation...to pay "for a $2000 new car detail"...when you buy a "new" car...the car should be "new" lol

Look up Mustang or Focus RS on AM Details channel (based in Scotland), they had same issues with brand new collected vehicles, no idea how the dealers don't spot these BIG issues when doing the PDI! 🤦‍♂️ Well i know who the dealer was, so i know how they could have, but most good dealers wouldn't allow it to be issued.

Looks fantastic! That red just pops now! Sandro have you tried any of the ceramic primer products designed to do light correction and polishing and leave a base layer for the coating to bond to? Gyeon quartz primer would be an example. Any thoughts on them?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks and yes I’ve personally used CarPro Essence, Nv Morph and both Shine Supply Burnout & Slickback as coating primers. If the paint extremely soft then the resins in them can actually give you a little hardening an extra slickness which helps prevent marring and scratches during the coating stage, which can be a big help on those supper sensitive paints. But otherwise I personally prefer coating on bare paint and not masking any haze if I’m being payed to do high level paint correction.

Beginner question: Can the foam applicator pad used with Nova PERL be washed and reused? If so, is there a good method to clean them out? How about the microfiber cloths for the ceramic coating? Thanks for the great series!
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
Yes you can reuse the foam applicator, just make sure to use it with similar products, and I use a velvet soap bar and warm water to clean it out. If you have a bucket ready with warm water and detergent and put you’re used cloths straight in as you switch to clean ones you can reuse them a few times for coatings.

Amazing video. You touched on several points beginners would be asking themselves. One I'm still wondering is how much product to be used on a sedan bonnet? You applied the droplets on the cloth looks like twice for this car's bonnet, but not sure if it's twice or 4 times. :(

Hi Sandro, your videos and your work have an ethic and a discipline that I simply admire. If it’s okay, I has a question. When cleaning heavily soiled engine bays (requiring a rinse with hose), does one use a wheel cleaner or a car shampoo? Also, why don’t you dilute the Carpro Pearl with water, which is what I have seen some other detailers do. I love your work, keep ‘em coming!
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, and a degreaser would be at the top of my list for a dirty engine bay and even a tar remover can be a great help. I’ve personally found that Perl can create a patchy finish when diluted, but not always, it really depends on the specific trims, but I don’t seem to have that issue when used neat.

Sandro, how imperative is it to use Carpro Dlux on trim and rubber, vs just using UK3.0 for the paint and plastics?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
Some of it is just personal choice, as they are both great coatings regardless of the surface, but I have had particularly good successes with Dlux on wheels and plastic trims, so that’s also part of it.

Great to see the conclusion Sandro. You say at the end you sank 33 hours into this job. For a new detailer starting out trying to figure out what to charge, do you have an hourly rate that you just simply multiply by the amount of hours you expect to spend on each job, or do you charge by the different processes and products that you apply to each job?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
Time is always the greatest expensive and an hour rate based on an estimation of time is how I primary quote jobs. But that rate has includes things to sustain your business or else it will fail. So your rate needs to take into account things like your product costs, taxes, rent, bills, insurance and depreciation of equipment that will need to be replaced, and of course you need to live and pay yourself a wage. But another part of it is of course the experience, skill and results that you bring to the table, so just like any other industry, the better you are at what you do the more desirable your services become and the more you should be charging based on that skill level and what you deliver to your clients.
@chadrandolph9874

Hey Sandro! Great series! That engine bay is nice. Absolutely a superb job on that 5.0.... I will be applying a coating soon and I picked up on something you said about laying down extra criss-cross applications to help the coating flash quicker. I will be coating a white car in natural lighting. (Outside) 😁 so seeing the coating flash may be more difficult for me. I’m not using one of the popular brands for this job and I don’t believe it’s a quick flash coating according to the manufacturers assessment. They do say that it is a very forgiving coating...whatever that means...lol Any advice?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks mate! I’d just say do your first section to try and gauge how much time it needs to sit on the paint in your environment and with your technique before you level it down. Generally if it’s more forgiving to use, that tends to point to a slower flash time, so as you mentioned, you could perhaps work it in a little longer with your applicator to encourage a quicker flash time if that’s the case.

Being a bit more liberal with your glass cleaner should help, so don’t be afraid to really saturate the glass with it as well as ensuring your cloths are perfectly clean and you just use them for glass and nothing else.

I’m very interested in the microfibre cloths you are using to buff off the ceramic coating! Could you share please? Thank you so much.

Since you used a ceramic coating we can't buy, which over the counter coating would you recommend?

Generally if you go with a consumer brand of coating that is tried and tested with a good reputation you should be fine. I guess a couple of the ones I personally use and like would be Nv Nova Evo and Carpro CQuartz UK & SiC.

This is almost too good of a job for a Mustang 5.0! One would think that the paint like this you can only see on a garage queen Ferrari.
