Enjoying your videos, has helped a lot understand maintaining our boat. We have a 1986 Carver Mariner that we will be selling next year. We just bought a 1995 Carver 355 AFT and I want to make sure I use the correct products next year before putting in the water. The boat will be in fresh water on the river in MN. The hull still looks shiny and I was wondering if all I need to do is wash and then use Jescar power lock+ to protect the gel coat. Last year I used Maguires compound and then wax on my 1986 boat but has a lot of water spots after we pulled it out. Planning on using the starke venom appt remover before selling it. Just want to make sure I am maintaining our new boat properly. Thanks!!

Have you ever looked into a spotless rinse system to remove the minerals from the water and prevent water spots or do you just get them up before they dry. I know in Florida you can move one for just a second and they will dry up on you. On the topic of water do you worry about getting hose marks on the gunnels, do you have a special hose or just iso alc the marks? Great videos
@DrakesDetailing3 жыл бұрын
I have thought about getting the filter, but it would be hard to lug that thing around from marina to marina.. but it could be done. I’m usually very careful with the hose not to pull it across anything, or you can get a ZERO - G hose and you wont have any issues.

I noticed that you used the orange lake country pad? You normally use the grey pad with the menzerna 400. What made you go with the orange one this time? Also what’s the advantage of using the flex 3401 vs a DA polisher? As always your videos are much appreciated!! 👍🏻
@DrakesDetailing3 жыл бұрын
I used the orange because I didn’t need to cut as much. The grey is more aggressive. The flex 3401 is a much better machine for polish because it will not stall or stop spinning when you apply pressure. The da will stop spinning. It will allow you to work faster and apply more or less pressure when needed

Seriously, just tripped into this channel. You are amazing!! I’ve watched several so far and about to buy product’s via your amz links. couple questions: 1) it seems like most of the products you use can be performed in direct sunlight? Agreed? 2) so after step two ( hitting with the Mezz 400) do you really wash again with Dawn? Before the next step. Wouldn’t that strip off all the hard work with the 400 stuff? Thanks Drake. Super excited that I found this channel. Got to wait 4 more months before I get to try these steps. Boat is in Boston, MA and it’s not warm here right now. Lol
@DrakesDetailing3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Yes they are all fine in direct sunlight, all products work best in cool temps but it will still work. 2 the menzerna 400 actually polishes the surface. Washing it will dawn will remove the oils in the polish to help make the wax stick better. It will not hurt any of your work if it was done correctly.

Up north most of the boats are put into storage during the winter months. This is the prime time to prep/buff/ and detail your boat to prepare for the short boating season, as it is only around 4 months.
