Great content. I’ve always been scared to detail an engine after killing a battery and alternator at a car wash! I felt like such a dumb ass. I’ve learned more from these videos and it blows me away how fast I can catch on. Thanks boss man 👍

I also cover air intake and MAF. It’s not common to mess those up but I’ve seen so many people do, I’d rather take extra precaution. I remove those later and clean on their own. If I’m not lazy I do the throttle too very 3yrs or so due unnoticeable gunk from intake.

I watch most of your videos and usually like them. But what's the point of showing an engine detail video when you can't see anything. You did a good job of describing everything but most the parts of the video hosing down the engine and the actual detailing were shot from the side so you really don't see anything.

@@stipuledorange4 lack of attention to detail. I want to see a wider view of what they are doing. When it is being hosted off let me see where is being sprayed. Is anywhere being concentrated on. Is it just a quick rinse off. It's a good video as far as detail but the video itself could show more. Last thing I want to do is spray too much in an area and screw something up.

Our engine bays are kinda like ovens. Really well sealed from top to bottom which makes it hard for anything to really get in but also makes it hard for any debris to get out. Mainly dust and the occasional leaf that makes it way through the ducting under the windscreen.

I would never spray water in an engine bay. I use elbow grease and all purpose cleaner. Tire shine works great on plastic and rubber bits.

Pretty much anything past the 2000's can handle it, however I am the same as you. I spend about 3 hours cleaning my car though lmao. If you do for whatever reason need to spray water in there I usually just put a bag over the alternator and battery with tape around it to hold it tight. Little bit of water wont hurt but you also don't want to drown your alternator or anything.

I’ll share a dealership secret, we do this all the time except without covering the alternator or battery. Unless the car is submerged in water, or water gets into the intake and hydro locks the engine, it will be fine. The heat from the engine bay will normally evaporate any leftover water as well. I’ve pressure washed my personal cars like this and it’s been fine, no electrical issues.
