I've been struggling with my round house kicks and was desperately looking for some solid drills to use that didn't require a bag. Thanks man you are a legend.

Same too, I can only do back kicks front kicks, and side kicks. I'm learning more, but need more improvement on my round house. I'm definitely not using no leap kicks; too difficult. Lol. Thanks dude.☺

Thanks so much. I hurt my left hip many years ago and although it can sometimes still hurt. I have lost more the flexibility and strength to maintain good kicking posture. This sounds like a great way to rebuild. Will definitely work on rebuilding.
@shamaniccolonic7777 жыл бұрын
You're generating good speed, but if you turn your hips over more it'll be a lot stronger. Try to kick all the way thru the bag with your leg parallel to the floor instead of chopping up at an angle.
@Vahvafitness7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip, my kicking technique definitely has tons of room to improve
@crazyjay63316 жыл бұрын
connor obenhoff the roundhouse should be practice turning turning the hip over. if you practice enough it wont be telegraphed and it will be just as easy to get back in stance, straight from hip is just lazy
@crazyjay63316 жыл бұрын
It will take a while, but the reward is worth the effort ;)
@bunkaiking5 жыл бұрын
Your leg should never be parallel when doing a roundhouse kick. Look at how thai boxers kick. Knee higher than the ankle, and the power they generate cannot be matched by any other style of martial arts. In another words mate your chatting shit!

Very helpful video dude ! Thanks a lot. I am very stiff muay thai athlete with big flexibility problem on the hips and legs. I just did your routine combined with my ordinary stretches and I could instantly kick a little bit better and higher. Going to stick to it, 3/4 times a week and post results after 2-3 months. I only have one question, how many reps (or pulses) per leg and how many sets, or how many seconds for isometric for beginner and stiff person ? Thanks !
@Vahvafitness5 жыл бұрын
Usually 10-30 reps per leg is great. Good luck with the routine. I also have a free mobility class that takes everything a lot further that can be immensely helpful, you can check it out here: adayofmobility.com

Thank you. The exercises are perfect. How many sets and reps should I do?
@Vahvafitness7 жыл бұрын
Thank you! 3-5 sets per exercises and 10-15 repetitions per set can work well, but most important is to do until the muscles start to burn and get tired
@acs79914 жыл бұрын

Do you wear compression gear when training?
@Vahvafitness6 жыл бұрын
Yes, I have found it to be great because it allows full movement (joggers usually get in the way)
@Artahe7 жыл бұрын
This looks promising ! I need to strengthen my hips/obliques because I'm flexible enough to theoretically throw a high kick, but apparently my muscles aren't strong enough to sustain the stress
@Vahvafitness7 жыл бұрын
Thank you Neldolas, that is very likely the case
@Artahe7 жыл бұрын
What's funny is that if I throw it full speed, I can somehow reach chest level. But I cannot throw it slowly, even raising my knee at the right height put a strain on my muscles. Oh well, gotta train hard !
