could you do this exercise at the end with more intensity to really strengthen these muscles?

You absolutely can. You could also add reverse cable flyes to strengthen those muscles. The nice thing about using the cable machine for strengthening purposes is that you can easily adjust resistance and progress it as you get stronger.
