Don't forget to first clean under the hood. Very good instructional video on the do's and don'ts of engine cleaning. I've done more that a dozen or so and have never had an issue in doing them (as long as you take precautions). I won't do them on any vehicles pre-1994 or where compartments aren't used like today. Compartments today are made to be water-tight.

4:00 What I have done to keep the hood blanket from getting wet . Is to get a sufficient size of clear plastic and tape it to the hood , blue painters tape [orange color inside roll ]

Great video as always. I like to use the spray on and rinse off si02 products on the paint in the bay as well. sometimes over the spray on and wipe off products if things are tight.

You should try P&S express interior cleaner for exterior jobs as well. It cleans plastic and door jams reeeeeally well. I love it. ~$20 a gallon

Not as concentrated and doesn’t clean as good as a wheel cleaner

I love superior products' rage I am thinking about using a bit of it on carpet. However I would recommend against using on engine bay, it has at least two ingredients that can corrode the rubber of seals, wires, and hoses; one is particularly bad to rubber at high temperatures, temps that you won't see on a tire but certainly will on an engine. Might be better to use something weaker but that won't have to be 100% perfectly rinsed

Thanks for the tip! Super clean would be just as effective but I make sure I rinse and dry thoroughly and it's dilluted quite a bit through the foam cannon. But appreciate the point made.

Very good video. Will definitely come back to this one when I go to clean my engine (but will still be nervous just because...). Relative new subscriber and looking forward to more videos. This one was very clear and concise for someone new to detailing, like me.

So you don't cover alternator, disconnect batter or none of that? I ask because I see so many mixed videos on how others do it.

Chelsea, Instead of using an APC on an engine bay, what do you think of using waterless wash product to clean it ?
@attention2detailswchelsea3 жыл бұрын
That works too. I like ADG wipeout as it has great cleaning capabilities.

I mix it up a lot of times and show how average tools that a majority of people have can be used in a different way.
