Hi Renae! Thank you for watching and thank you for the lovely comment. We all learn in different ways and at different paces. I add timestamps in the description box for those who want to skip ahead. And there are some - myself included - who would like to hear and see the process a few more times before moving forward. All the best to you this day - and every day!🌻🧶🌻🌻

This is probably THE best cast-off demo video for loom I have EVER seen. Your instructions are SO clear and easy to follow. Your camera and angles are great and you explain everything in a way that’s so easy to follow. I also love that you demo a stitch or a process multiple times. Thanks for making this channel!

Looking for something relaxing, purposeful, and meditative to do during medical treatments, I thought loom knitting might be a good bet. Over the last two years, I've knitted many hats and scarves for refugees and homeless people. Who taught me how to knit? You did! You're a wonderful teacher who knows how to present instructions in a friendly, encouraging, and clear manner. Thank you!

I feel like it's a looming sin that this bind off isn't shown or recommended enough. It was mind blowing doing it the first time and less stressful than the basic bind off. Also a QoL tip to the others for tightening the freshly loosened loops, place your pinky behind the peg and then tighten. You basically just want to x2 the size of each loop and the pinky is pretty reliable for 5/8 to 3/4 Guages. It's also easier to have consistent loops when you judge tightness of a loop against your skin.

Hi Lil Puddin!! Thank you for taking the time to leave such insightful comments and suggestions. I like the idea of using the pinky to help give uniformity to each loop. Thank you so very much. I will pass it on. All the best to you!!🌻🌻🧶🌻

Love your videos!! I have a question: every time I make a hat using a circular loom, doing “eWrap” all the way, a diagonal line appears in my hat. It almost looks as if I made a special stitch. I can’t figure it out. Thank you.

I had the same problem with my first several hats. On each pass of e-wraps, I stopped e-wrapping that first peg... Essentially making the second peg my first peg. I hope that makes sense, I am not sure how else to explain it though LOL

If you still have some questions, you can use this link to upload a photo to our gallery. That way I can see what your ‘situation’ is. You only have to give an email the first time for security reasons. No other info is needed. Once your photo or photos are uploaded you will be able to provide a caption. Claudia, thank you sending the photos. I have looked at the photos of the hats you sent. I have not seen this happening before. I am going to play around with making some ewrap hats in different ways to see if I can figure out why it would do that diagonal line. 🌻

Hi Sandra! Thank you for watching. I did a chain stitch cast on and then just alternated between one row of knit and one row of purl. I think the yarn gives it the richer look. It is Lion Brand Hometown USA. # 6 bulky weight. Acrylic, color: Miami Seafoam. Thank you, again.🌻🌻🌻🧶

This was very interesting! Big fan of your channel! However, I'm not sure if I see the difference between the the basic cast-off and this one? are they the same with different names? I'm still new to loom knitting. I would love to start a project with a chain stitch cast on but I'd like to do the correct cast off, so I searched for a good vodeo about. Thankfully you had one.
@WambuiMadeIt
@WambuiMadeIt Жыл бұрын
Hi Yandolito! Thank you so very much for watching. I am happy that you find the tutorials helpful. The main difference between the ‘chain stitch cast off’ and a regular cast off is that the chain stitch cast off is a little more uniform and tends to be a little neater and matches the cast on Row better. However, you can loom knit many things - and have great results without using the chain stitch cast off. However, if you are really adamant about the cast on row matching the cast off row then the chain stitch cast off will make that match better. I hope this all makes sense.🤗 I hope you enjoy your loom knitting journey! All the best to you!🌻🌻🧶

Hi Wambui...been using this chain stitch and love it, it's so neat. Thank you. I do have a question if you know. I want to knit a blanket on my 41 peg loom (don't have a bigger) and I was wondering if you knew to tell me how wide it would be? I can control the length but I'm not sure how to know how wide it would be. Thank you again..your great 🤗🇬🇷
@WambuiMadeIt
@WambuiMadeIt 3 жыл бұрын
Greetings that is a very good question. Besides the peg count, it will also depend on how thick the yarn is and the distance that the pegs are from each other. For the loom gauge, measure the distance between the pegs by measuring from the center of one peg to the center of the next peg - this is the gauge. If you send me the gauge of the loom you are using - and the weight or thickness of your yarn -and the type of stitches you will be using, I can give you an ‘approximate’ answer as to how wide the blanket will be. Ok?
@ΧριστίναΜαγουλα-β1ξ
@ΧριστίναΜαγουλα-β1ξ 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I haven't picked yarn yet. My loom is the basic 41 peg that was a set of four and I'm planning on maybe doing one row knit and one row purl. So I was also thinking I can make two big pieces or 3 depending on the size and then knit them together. The result being for a double bed. The gauge seems to be a little over one and a half. I'm not going to use to thick of a yarn the reason is I dont really enjoy knitting with very thick yarn, maybe a 4ply and maybe double it if necessary. Thank you again sorry if I'm tyring you...have you ever made a blanket on a round loom?

Here my is my estimate: The largest swatch gauge loom that I have is 3/4 inches. Using a 41 peg loom, 3/4 in gauge, 5 weight yarn, Alternating rows of Ewrap and purl will = About 20 inches or 51 center meters wide blanket. What I recommend if you want to be more accurate is this: Once you have the yarn you are going to use, loom knit with everything exactly as you intended to make your blanket - loom knit about 2 inches - cast or bind off the exact way you intend to cast off your real blanket - and then measure the width of what you have. That is going to be perfectly accurate. I hope this helps. I have a feeling your blanket is going to be wonderful. Let me know how it goes.👍🏽🌻🧶🌻🧶🧶🌻☀️
