I have the old style 028 WB that has a 2-piece sprocket. Can I convert it to a 1-piece or to this style just by replacing the whole sprocket assembly?

i found a STIHL 028 SUPER AV EQ CHAIN BRAKE Assembly kit and just wanted to know if i can use it to upgrade my stihl 028 av quickstop and how .

hi,thanx for the video.i have a stihl 028 av quick stop that does not have the chain brake on it but rather the motor brake (quickstop) and i was told that i can upgrade to a chain brake but i am not sure how.i know i need to change a part of the housing ect.i went to lilredbarn but couldn't find what i need.i hope you can help with know how and maybe a place to buy the piece's i need . thanx for the cool vid ,it is a help as im busy restorating my 028 av qs :)

very nice upgrade. * I wonder why the star drive in the first place(?) seems like a lot to maintain or replace? maybe there is a good reason for them? I like the rim sprocket - easy to get, comes in assorted sizes,easy to change out when its worn too. just needs the one part. 🙂

whats the motivation behind this "upgrade", what are the benefits?? over stock sprocket?

for those that prefer a sprocket drive, its our choice. and when the drive gets worn?, just replace the sprocket drive [one port] dome like the option for various sized drives. which is an easy thing to get and change the one part.
