Mr. Mosley, I'm making a massive plan and just know that if this all works out for me, your name and channel will definitely be coming out of my mouth if someone asks for some tips and where I learned my stuff. I've kept hundreds of notes from your channel and wrote hundreds of songs based on those notes. So thanks for all the tips. Hopefully I'll see you in the professional context in the future. Keep up the good work and let's keep hip hop alive!

Rap for fun. If you chase the money you will not authentically write or spit what you are trying to say.

Hey Drew, how do I find what city to rep if I’m not from the city. I’m from a town 10 miles south from Colorado Springs. Do I just claim the springs or do I rep Denver which is an hour away

More practice, unfortunately. The more you practice and build connections with your verses and confidence in yourself to deliver it will improve

Are there any exercises you can do for lips? I just started about a month ago, and ive hit a wall at 16 syllables per second because i cant move my lips fast enough.
@DonMyrda7 ай бұрын
16 syllables per second !? Dawg, is it even possible to go faster than that ??
@ThrowingStar7 ай бұрын
@DonMyrda update: yea, at this point I've hit 20. Still want to get faster and more consistent with fast raps
@Adsterr3 ай бұрын
@@ThrowingStar Get way better at bars and metaphors, you don`t need to rap faster, each bar only needs max 16th cadence or a bit more, at MAX. You need room to be melodic dude, you don`t want to just spit fast. You don`t see many rappers doing fast rapping, you need lots of space for melody and flow with pauses and breathing. You`ll be whack if you can`t be lyrical or melodic. I can`t rap fast but i`m decent at writing. Bars and metaphors are way more important than fast rapping. Its just a style, but 16th cadence per sec is pretty wild im sure.

How does a beat make a difference in a song?
@mikkey2468 ай бұрын
I wish I could answer.
@DonMyrda7 ай бұрын
Certain sounds convey different emotions to a listener.. by using one beat, the depth of what you’re saying might not hit the same to the listener as it would to a more fitting beat. In my experience.
@eduardmanecuta53506 ай бұрын
Take for example - Dance with the devil. The beat emplifies the experience much more. It makes that hunting, creepy and messed up feeling stay with you even after the song ends. The voice of the rapper, his flow and the beat, when come in union creates magic. Dre for example understood this when he made the beat for "Forgot about Dre" after he heard the lyrics. The beat fits perfect with Em lyrics. Soemtimes the beat is so good that even overlaps the lyrics.
@Adsterr3 ай бұрын
Changes the flow, you go by elements in the beat, like Bassline, melody and hi hats (And etc). So it makes a big impact, it will predict your flow. Stop going out of pocket, always, you gotta be in pocket aka, be on the elements of the beat.

This shit crack me up. Im all for artists honing their craft... But if you think youre finna become a Storyteller by watching a video on youtube... It aint for you. Ive been writting for people for years and it comes down to this... Concept of the story, 8 naritive ideas you want to be included, dedicate 2 bars to each idea.... (16 bars aka one verse...) Write it out then go back and tighten it up, power up your metaphors and punchlines.. Your 2nd draft should be MUCH different from your first word for word, BUT similar in meaning. If need be do a 3rd draft. If you think youre gonna write a good story in one take, gtfo...😂

Its all about bit by bit, learning more and more. Each video will help if taken in action and understood correctly. Even more so in a video course. would love to learn from you though, lets connect.

⚠️HELP⚠️ **Subject: Urgent Inquiry Regarding Collaborative Project** Hello Drew Mosley/How To Rap Team I have a pressing question that requires your expertise. As a recording artist, I recently collaborated with a producer online who was looking for potential artists for his EP album. I eagerly volunteered for the project and recorded the song "Pure Intentions" with him. However, after providing him with the song's lyrics, he ceased communication regarding the album's release. **Key Points:** - Collaborated with producer on "Pure Intentions." - Provided lyrics but received no response about album release. - Have producer's playlist album and artwork. - I Posses separate vocal track stems as a backup. Now, the issue is the producer has ghosted me and hasn't distributed the song. I'm considering releasing it under my name, altering the artist attribution from "XO V1llain - Song Title (ft. LSK)" to "XO V1llain & LSK - Song Title." However, I'm uncertain if this is a wise decision. I seek advice on how to proceed. Any insights or explanations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, SamKin

Did you both agree to a contract deal? Never go into a song, without a contract dude. You can get ripped off hard, don`t trust in this game. Even if you do, you got to have a contract bro.
