I watched this again before flying this evening and it really helped make my backflips smoother and faster. I realized that I used to blip the throttle then cut the throttle completely before I even started rotating. Now instead of blipping the throttle I keep it where it was for normal forward flight but instead of dropping it before the flip I wait until I I've begun to pitch back then drop it. This gives me the bit of extra altitude that the blip did but looks a lot smoother and I'm able to do them pretty damn low while cruising along pretty fast.

its the opposite of the look down flip forward over an obstacle. Thanks for another how too. the original how to fly series is really good, You basically taught me how to fly properly :) .

Joshua Bardwell idk how people can learn without any instruction, i fllew fixed wing rc for many years and los quads but ur the only one who offerd instruction and i really appreciated learning co-ordinated turns right away then , head down 360*s , look down flip over , etc . etc .

2:45 transition from that over shot backflip into slower front flip(a kind of small backward power loop) is the great way to get away with overshooting :) especially if there's something underneath. On top of that if you add some yaw to it it's gonna end up looking quite awesome indeed :)

Totally going to blame you for encouraging this when I crash. Seriously though, thanks for the tips. I've got low rolls down but it will be nice to pull off low flips. Please do more of these trick tutorials. 👍🏼
@JoshuaBardwell8 жыл бұрын
The trick tutorials are hard because I am running out of "tricks" that I can really do confidently. Okay, maybe that's not entirely true, but I really have to internalize the trick before I feel confident I can teach it. Just being able to do the trick isn't enough.
@badmofo3508 жыл бұрын
+Joshua Bardwell understood. I just enjoy watching trick tutorials because they encourage me to try things and give me ideas. I find myself doing the same few tricks over and over which is good for learning but bad for getting epic footage.

Correct me if i am wrong but i think that on stock betaflight rates i just increase the super rate to 7.5 and that gives me a pretty good roll speed.

Any recommendation for improving copter's water resistance? As a beginner, I will be flying out in grassy areas early every morning starting soon and am worried about the moisture which the copter will be subject to upon what lets hope will be few collisions haha. I have the Emax red bottoms which are fairly shielded but how concerned should I be about dust and water getting in them? ESC are heat shrunk very nearly in my setup so those are good... So then my final concern is the moisture which will be around my solder mess from the ESC wires soldered to my quadrevo powerosd. Im gonna look for some kind of clear coat spray to add a very thing layer of plastic over my power distribution board/ flight controller. Any comments, ideas or experience regarding the topic will be appreciated :)

@wildstyles_fpv17498 жыл бұрын
+Joshua Bardwell Why don't you just use HQ props.. always balanced well out of pack.
@JoshuaBardwell8 жыл бұрын
+Limpet86 the answer used to be price, but now you can find HQ 5x4x3 for around 80 cents each which is not too bad. The other answer is durability. They break at the drop of a hat. And I don't think HQ makes a 5x4x3 durable... do they?
@JoshuaBardwell8 жыл бұрын
+Droid FPV HQ 5x4x3 are amazing but fragile. And you have to shop around to find a good price. I am having okay results so far with KingKong 5x4x3.

How much flight time does your setup gives you ?
@JoshuaBardwell8 жыл бұрын
2-3 minutes on a 1300 mAh 4S depending on how aggressively I'm flying. Possibly as much as 3:30 to 4:00 under some circumstances such as if I'm demonstrating a not-too-demanding move.
@user-yk1cw8im4h8 жыл бұрын
Thanks, do you think it could by any chance get up to 6min if cruising ? I'm building a Tweaker FPV Addict 180 at the moment, and it can only take 4" prop on 2204 motors. What setup would you suggest if I want it to be nimble while not sacrificing too much flight time (Not sure if it's realistic - 6,7 minutes ideally)? My current idea is : Cobra 2204 2850KV Motors Dalrc xr20A ESCs Tattu 1300mAh 4s 74c Batteries KingKong 4045 Props Another unrelated question is why people doesn't choose the highest KV motors available? They can always throttle less in order to extend the flight time or to be slow, and it also have a broader range in speed to choose from. Basically what is there to lose by choosing high KV motors over a lower ones ? Thank you
@JoshuaBardwell8 жыл бұрын
6-7 minutes on 4" props is probably not impossible, but you gotta ask what you're really going for here. It's like buying a Ferrari and then babying the throttle to improve your gas mileage. Just buy more batteries. Higher kv means lower torque. Might as well ask why all cars don't come with 5th gear only. You need torque to change prop speed rapidly. Also, higher kv motors get really inefficient with more aggressive props.

if anyone would know it would be you... one more question in blheli suite it says multi... i imagine this means multishot is enabled? i also enabled it in betaflight
@IzakGt8 жыл бұрын
I thought that it meant multi was to distinguish fixed-wing vs multi-rotor for the esc selection(that was my guess, but could be totally wrong!)?? Does Blhelisuite have a firmware for multishot just sitting right there? Haven't checked in a while? Hopefully Joshua chimes in to clear it up! When I tried multishot I had to do a google search and found the firmware on a forum. Then do a flash from local and select multishot for my specific escs. Then enable it on cf. Not sure if I went about it all wrong (likely chance) but either way I experienced some anomalies and after watching some stuff Skitzo had to say I just made sure I ran Borris B's betaflight with super expo and ran it the way Joshua suggested and went back to oneshot. So far I'm loving my quad!
@mrmurder758 жыл бұрын
If you are talking about flashing firmware in blheli suite, multi is fw for multirotors, main is for helicopters, and tail is for helicopters too. So as long as you select the right file for your esc and it says multi, you are good.
@mrmurder758 жыл бұрын

i know this isnt the right video for this.. but i was wondering if u can help me... im using 30amp aikon esc's with blheli-s , Lumenier 2206 2000kv and SPF3 FC.. when i turn airmode on min motors spin as normal.. if i give a little throttle and go back to zero throttle my motors start winding up faster and faster.. if i switch to acro mode while they are winding up it seems to affect it but not fix it.... im at my witts end do u have any idea why this is happening? by the way multishot is enabled and im using betaflight 2.9.1
