I changed my vocabulary. I am 54 I've been 20:4 eating for three weeks and lost 10 pounds. The reason was asking what is my Enough. My vocabulary is no longer a relationship with food bc food is inanimate and incapable of relationship. however, MY behavoir around food is what had to change. My Enough is my behavior not food's. Thank you for your insight on what it actually means to change. I have changed my life bc I have changed my behavior.

'Food is an inanimate and incapable of a relationship ' this one sentence has just broke food's relationship spell over me. I didn't realize that my thoughts about food were skewed so much like I actually believed that food was there to comfort me when it should just be there to nourish me ❤ thank you so much for sharing your thoughts you have given me a new tool for my health toolbox!

With this feast and fasting, I am so empowered by making my food choices, that makes me so happy ,all the diets I’ve been on I’ve been so restricted ,depressed and , after the end date all the weight comes back ,couple years back my doctor sent me to a nutritionist And her formula for me to lose weight was going to be a disaster FOR ME,I told her right away this is not gonna work. She had me eating breads and fruits. I said no I can’t do that ! Thats what made me gain weight, she goes yes you can. It’s just moderation.😱 the best coach that I’ve ever had is MY body, what it likes ,what it can tolerate and it shows me how many hours of fasting ,I need to get rid of the excess weight 👍 I just have to listen😊Class of 2021

I think this is your video that hit me the most. but you're talking about menopausal women and I'm post menopausal, Does it matter 'cause I want to lose 125 lbs. and keep coming back to your videos.

My biggest struggle with when doing a 20 hr fast is a sort of binge mentality takes over when I break the fast. The binge mostly involves healthy food choices vs junk food but I eat BEYOND my hunger and I don’t seem to enjoy the food while I’m eating. I’m working hard to overcome this mental / emotional hurdle but would appreciate any tips

I’ve recently been experiencing serious heartburn and stomach acid. I’m doing my best to avoid food/drinks that exacerbate the problem while I wait for my gastro appt in May. Because I have stomach acid first thing in the morning, I’m worried that the long fast will make things work bc there’s nothing to neutralize or help absorb the acid. Wondering what others opinions are? Thanks!

Hello! I've been successful with IF for about 6 years, and was down to a healthy weight that I was happy with. However, this last year, (I'm 39) I've been gradually gaining weight despite prolonging my fast, cutting carbs etc. I am an active mom to 6 and i really enjoy my daily walks/runs. I am apparently perimenopausal according to lab work and that couod be slowing things down for me? Any thoughts/suggestions?? I'd like to lose about 15 - 20 lbs, but nothing seems to be working!

I can’t really give advice on this info. It would be a total guess and not fair to you! I have a lot of videos on my Intermittent Fasting playlist. and if you are interested I teach a course on intermittent fasting.

Go to your OBGYN, they can test your hormone levels to see if they are too low. Check out Dr Barbie, she has a channel on menopause and perimenopause education, a wealth of knowledge. I'm the youngest of 6 children, 3 girls, 3 boys! It's scary when our bodies don't respond to what worked before, but don't give up searching for answers. My doctor gave me options, I'm on HRT combipatch that has estrogen and progesterone, it's a skin patch. It's helped some with night sweats but I'll probably have to increase the dose. We'll see. All the best to you on your journey. -Val in Virginia

I have a question. I have fasted two years ago and it worked for me and now is not working for me. If I can only do a 16 to 18 hour fast is that good enough or do I have to bring it to 20 to see results as a 54-year-old woman with menopause.
