Thanks a lot for this tutorial! I am really struggling to reach my feet, even when I stretch regularly :/ do you know why this is?
@alicemaisetti4 жыл бұрын
Hi Evelyn, thank you so much for your comment. Working on backbend flexibility really takes a lot of time, even more than we can expect! I would say to keep being patient and consistent with your practice. On top of that, you could do some mobility exercises for shoulders and hips, and these parts of the body could be tight and might prevent you to increase your spinal flexibility. Sometimes the problem might not be in that specific part of the body but in other parts - all our body parts are are connected to one another. Hope this helps ❤️

@@alicemaisetti Here I am showing my stretching progress of the month :) it is quite short, maybe you could give me suggestions on areas to improve or where you think I lack flexibility? only if you have the time. we could even collaborate in the future if you would be interested in something like that. no pressure. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jGi3q6yDeN6jhs0

You look kind of like the Buddha character from Ragnarok anime. Anyway, spot on lecture. I started Muay Thai and these poses are helping with anatomical correction. There's no point in training if you're training wrong.

Hi! Does the leg come into play to master this pose or back flexibility is the utmost importance? Can we do the chakarsana if we are able to do this?
@alicemaisetti4 жыл бұрын
Hi Jen, thank you for your comment 🙏 Let's say that the whole body comes into play when practicing this pose - as it's quite challenging advanced pose. Definitely the back flexibility is most useful for King Cobra than legs strength, at least this is how I feel the pose. About Chakrasana, if you practice this you should increase back flexibility for the wheel too - be aware that in this asana you have to lift yourself up, so you also need more legs strength and shoulders have to be strong and also open. I will prepare a tutorial for you on this one! 😘🙏

@alicemaisetti4 жыл бұрын
My dear, don't give up! ☺️ I know it's hard and seems impossible, but with constant practice and dedication the magic will come true! ✨🙏 For example, to me it took one year to work on handstand, and all bodies are different, so for you might be less or more time to learn something new. I am sure you are doing amazing and that you will see progresso soon ❤️

Might it help to also do some mermaid kicks for leg extensions?
@alicemaisetti4 жыл бұрын
absolutely - anything that helps you extend and lengthen will be helpful. I'd recommend some low lunges perhaps, so that you can work on length hip flexors and quads a little more, which you might find more useful for this pose if you feel tightness around your legs🙏❤️😘

My shoulder/thoratic flexibility is great and so are my hip flexors, I would say more flexible than most people (who arent pro dancers or contortionist) And I still cannot get this pose I have no idea what I'm doing wrong or maybe my body proportions make this move impossible for me since my legs are far longer than my torso
@madeline5693 жыл бұрын
Just for more info: -In a low lung my quad is almost fully touching the floor -I can put my arms in reverse prayer positions behind my back (and do chest and shoulder, splits AND Backbend excercises every single day) - in my mermaid pose my back is straight up and my leg is bent so much that my foot is stabbing into my back and hips on the floor How can I have these poses so advanced and still not be able to reverse my grip?! I'm so frustrated if anyone has any advice please let me know 😔

Alice Maisetti I lean my legs against the wall then lean back until I feel my feet touch my head. I just find it so much easier that way. I can do many advanced backbends however I still can’t seem to do this one.
