Hello and welcome to your 10 Minute Yoga inspired Stretching Routine, which is the perfect little Cool Down after a short or long run.
We take care of your entire lower body and stretch glutes, quads, hamstrings & hips, but also get a little bit into the spine and side body.
Really make sure to give yourself just a little bit of time (for stretching) after every run, in order to reduce the risk of injuries, recover faster and increase flexibility.
As always the sequence is well balanced and all of the exercises flow seamlessly into each other.
I first designed a much more fancy sequence but finally came to the point that all I personally want after running, is a simple but effective stretching routine, and someone out there who tells me how long to stay ;) Well, yes. That’s how we got here. Basic but effective!
IMPORTANT:
If you got sensitive knees (or if it simply feels better!), PLEASE pad your knee basically in all of the kneeling positions! (Low Lunge, Quad Stretch, Runners Stretch + Lizard). Just take a little cushion, a blanket or simply fold the mat.
During the QUAD STRETCH, please try to not put your weight directly on the kneecap (patella), but more on the softer flesh right above the kneecap. Does this makes sense? You feel the difference and it’s much more comfortable :)
For variation, you can also switch the Lizard Pose to a Pigeon Pose. I sometimes mix these up. Both are fine :-)
And last but not least, in the SEATED TWIST make sure to actively pull the bend thigh towards you, so you actually benefit from that beautiful stretch in your outer thigh/buttocks ;)

For bike riders, I would recommend turning your leg in the air when you lie on the floor, face up.

Vielen Dank für diese kurze aber knackige Dehn- und Aufwärmsequenz. Bin froh, dass ich mit inzwischen 65 Jährchen noch alle Übungen mitmachen kann und freue mich über die durchaus erträglichen Dehnungsschmerzen. Ich habe den Eindruck, dass ich durch regelmäßiges Praktizieren, tatsächlich, selbst in meinem Alter, wieder flexibler werde.

i’ve just started running and have been stretching beforehand but been fairly neglectful with the after. couldn’t put it off today as the back of my leg towards back of my knee was hella sore, was happily surprised to see this video released some of the strain!!

Zum Yoga kam ich erst nach einer OP und dank deinen Ansatz: Alles kann, nichts muss habe ich verstanden was Yoga eigentlich ist und für mich sein kann. Danke dafür !

This is wonderful! I have a hard time holding stretches long enough on my own and this routine is intrinsically pleasant and has leveled up my running experience by reducing leg pain.

ich war zwar nicht beim laufen, das schaffe ich mit meinem asthma leider (noch) nicht, aber das ziel sind wenigstens mal wieder 5 km zu schaffen 💪🏻.. aber ich war heute 25 min auf dem cross trainer, habe mit intervall training angefangen.. davor 6x sonnengruß und zum abschluß dieses tolle streching.. hat wahnsinn gut getan.. danke dafür ♥️

We love your music-only videos and use them every morning. Since we cycle through your videos so often, it would be wonderful to see some new poses instead of basically the same routine that is in many of your other videos. Thanks for posting these!

I totally got you ;) I basically thought the same thing and initially designed a much more fancy sequence - but in the end I came to the point that all I personally want after running, is a simple but effective stretching routine, and someone out there who tells me how long to stay ;) Well, yes. That’s how we got here. But don´t worry, there will be more new, fancy and advanced stuff in the future ;)

@@madymorrison Yes, that makes sense. Your music only concept is brilliant. It allows us to use your videos every morning without tiring of hearing the same instructions over and over. I think if you included the signal tones in your German language videos we could use them the same way. Right now, since we don't speak German, we don't know when to look at the screen for a new pose. Thanks for providing such well-done, enjoyable videos!

Definitely feel better after my run, my calves were so tight and this helped, especially the downward dog pose

I've just turned 70 and your sessions are great to keep me flexing as much as I can. Wish I'd started years ago. How do you earn your income? All of your sessions seems no cost.
