In this video we breakdown the Toe Tap! I offer several different, very do-able drills to help you develop the awareness & inner strength to be able to attain your toe taps.
2 blocks would be quite helpful, specifically cork blocks are my favorite because they're much more stable & less likely to roll. But an old phone book (remember those!?) or something similar would also work.
A couple of key thoughts:
- loads of strength as you push out of the shoulders
- hollow out the belly
- root femur bones deeply in their hip sockets, as well engaging leg muscles
Good luck!! Hope this helps! If so, tag me on Instagram or KZbin @kelsyogi
And if this helped you, don't forget to SUBSCRIBE to my channel. Thank you 😊

I’m a long time lurker and sub of yours but have never commented or said hi. I’m coming back to this video after a pretty bad L5/S1 injury and trying to slowly start incorporating compression work, toe taps, etc for my handstand journey. Before I got injured I was finally able to hold a freestanding handstand, albeit not very long. I never got it consistently with kick ups so I practiced a lot of puppy pressing which I had more success in but then I got hurt. I feel like I am back at square one with learning handstands - mentally mostly and I am back at the wall again with a lot of fear that I thought I moved past. I’ve watched you for sometime now and want to tell you how much you inspire me and how beautiful and graceful you are. I hope to be there one day. Any tips on how to overcome the mental aspect of it all? I think that is the number one thing holding me back on everything. It’s so hard to let it go. Any advice would be appreciated xx

Hey Lacey!! I'm so glad you reached out. We can fix this. Believe that!! Mindset is EVERYTHING!!! Have you ever heard of tapping? If not, look into EFT or tapping on releasing free. Of you can't find what you need, message me again. Here or direct on Instagram. We'll tap together & release what's binding you in fear. Fear keeps us safe so while we are grateful....I'm sure you are smart in your practice & no longer need it. #2... Low back injury screams to me...strengthen the glutes!! At first with bands then as you gain strength use weights. Your butt is what supports the low back. I have a few glute videos on here if you aren't sure where to start. Do you follow me on Insta? Let's connect. Good luck to you Lacey!! You are coming back!! Believe it. You are already on your way!! 🙏❤️

I noticed when you pressed up into the handstand that you have serious arm and shoulder muscles! In order to achieve this pose, did you have to do any weight training?

this is not doable for me now, as i need to bend my knee, and i can't get lift in my back to swing the leg through. a limb length problem, or strength weakness? none of these influencers tell you that being lighter in general is an advantage, even with lower body fat. more strength/weight ratio.
@kelsyogi
@kelsyogi Жыл бұрын
It is true. Having less weight to lift is to your advantage...but you can do it even if a bit heavier. Its about the core and shoulder strength!

Dear Kelsy, love it so much to see your intense foward foulds. Do do ever stretch with your back against a door, deep uttanasana. And than sink into the posture angainst the door, your back is very strait and you hamstrings are on fire. I love this door uttanasana. Love and stretch on, you are wonderfull! Love Jos
