@Sumomogirl1 I think he should do that too, but in case he doesn't, here's what I do for hats in front view. 1) Line up the bill of the hat with either a little past the side of the eyes or even the edge of the hat itself (depending) and then make the bill slightly larger as it comes down. 2) Point the bills up slightly on flat bill and baseball caps instead of down. It obscures less of the face.I only point the bills down when the person is looking down 3) Try it.

Question...my friend and I are wondering if you can draw some poses with flintlock pistols or any other flintlock firearms
@YochananShawmar12 жыл бұрын
You mention the "Newsboy's Hat"; actually a Newsboy's Hat has a button on top. The basic style you are thinking about is called a "Driving Cap". The style of cap you drew for the girl is more of a 60's era English "Mod" cap. I can't believe that I can still remember that part of the 60's. Great job, Mark.

Hi Mark thanks for sharing your knowledge with us aspiring manga artists. I must say I've learned a lot (like it's okay to take it slow as I always try to complete my drawings as fast as possible.) Although I would like to ask how does one draw baseball caps? Seems like everytime i try it comes out wrong like the ballcap is floating over the character's head or it seems off in terms of perspective. I hope you can make a tutorial for it so that i can finally finish my illustration of me and my friends (or at least somewhat us haha) thanks again Mark and I appreciate your effort in giving us hope that we can draw too ^_^

I don't know if you're still taking requests, what with your realism challenges and fanart tutorials lately, Mark, but I have one, if you don't mind. I've been watching your videos for a little over a year now, slowly growing as a manga artist, and have bought several of your books, including both Mastering Mangas. I know you're not particularly fond of doing videos on hair, but I find that one of the most difficult aspects of it is the fringe/bangs. I don't have any other way to describe it than that it always comes out looking... amateurish. (I know that I AM an amateur, but I'm sure you know what I mean.) Anyway, could you do a video on hair-maybe not on the actual STYLES, but on shape and volume and conveying those. Especially on direction and flow. It would be really helpful to hear any advice you have on the matter! :D
