Shotin Play You're pretty good with shading, the hair on your characters is a little too close to it's scalp and I think you need to work on your face proportions, but I'm not really that good myself. Check my pic out at this link: www.pinterest.com/pin/558798266238174165/ My 12 year old sister drew this: www.pinterest.com/pin/558798266238174860/ She's really great at drawing, cause she takes advanced Art classes and through art she wiggled her way to anime, She is WAAAY better than me!

Alexandria Henry This may be a little late, but I think you'd have better luck by drawing with a sharpened pencil with a hard lead, because it creates nice crisp lines. Also, mechanical pencils with 2B leads are good too!

@msp2041 A kneaded eraser, most of the time those are some form of clay that you knead repeatedly to keep it soft. I does make a great eraser and picks up nearly every thing you dont want without messing up your drawing

You should just try doing only circles or squares as practice. That's what I do, it is tedious (practice practice) but it's worth the results. I believe it also depends on how you hold the pencil (or whatever used for drawing) as well.

Yo Mark, is there a chance you can do a tutorial on how to do detailed long hair? You've done some videos with some-what simple types of long hair, like in the "Four Different Ways" video and in your "Curly vs. Straight", but nothing nearly as detailed as like in your "draw an innocent looking manga girl." Any chance we can get something a little more line-by-line for that detail'd of hair? TY for any response =)

Hey Mark, I like to draw anime characters every now and then but I've always wondered how people create their own anime character. I'm a huge fan of anime ever since I was six or seven maybe. Love Bleach, Inuyasha, Naruto, DN Angel, Lovely Complex and it continues. The main character(s) in each Manga series are different. It could just be the creator but I've always wondered how you create that unique character. How do you make them look different from the thousands of other Manga's out there?
