CLAYBORD
Claybord has a smooth surface and is great for inking. You can also use it as a scratchboard. You can create rich textures and interesting shapes. When you ink you can easily erase mistakes with a scrap tool or fine steel wool, which makes Claybord an Undo paper.

I am inking this Inktober drawing with a Winsor&Newton Series 7 #2 Sable brush. It is the ultimate brush to ink with and is used worldwide by comics artists and illustrators. For inking the grass I used real grass. I let it dry for a week and painted with it with washed Indian Ink.

So interesting to see how you made the textures with dried grass brushes and sea salt. It was also helpful to see that your ink layers were applied very wet. I am looking forward to watching all of your Inktober 2016 videos.

I had lot of fun doing the Claybord ink.Honestly it was an experiment, but It turned out pretty good. Using the random grass just gives you some great structure you could never paint with a single brush.

I can use Derwent o Faber Castell pencil colors in that material?

The surface is too smooth for pencils. So it won’t work.

Why you dont use Apple pencil?

On paper the Apple Pencil will be of no use. And I wanted to try doing an elaborate drawing on Claybord.
