hey uncle buck i swapped my 91 sierra manual with and sbc with new flywheel and used the starter from the v6 its making a clattering noise . could it be the wrong starter?

I wish you would have shown the removal of the solenoid. I'm replacing a starter and the just guess method is killing me. I've never taken apart a solinoid before. I'm going to try it, but I wish this were a bit more detailed for those without prior knowledge. You can't learn until you do, just how mechanics is.

3 small screws on the side and ground strap, take them off and twist it will pop right off, don't forget to put the spring back in when you put it back together
