In this video you will see how easily you can make a textured base for a resin ocean pour which includes a built in frame. At last you can have real ripples in your resin water! This method involves using clay and I forgot to mention in the video that after you have finished you can reuse the clay as long as you store it well.
It's early days with this new idea and over time i intend to refine the process but for the time being I hope it will be an effective form of inspiration for you.

Very pretty! If you would like some really crisp white resin paste for waves here is my secret! I mix titanium dioxide white pigment powder with resin only. Mix this really well with a bit of resin only. Mix this with a flat palette knife on a clean flat surface until ALL of the powder is dissolved. Keep mixing until you have a thick pure white paste. Put it in a small jar and you will always have white for nice crisp white waves. I keep an extra jar with one drop of silicone in it for waves with lots of cells. You just add a tiny bit of this to your regular resin mixture. You will save so much money by making this yourself and it will last your for months! ;)

Louise, what a beautiful piece, this tutorial was so cool. May I make a suggestion? The resin was too deep and that’s when you don’t get good lacing. Sometimes it’s also the resin. It looks like a thinner resin which is not the best for lacing. But you could have let it sit for a while before putting the waves on, let it thicken up a bit. Lacing works best in a thin layer of resin. I hope you don’t mind. I’ve learned this along the way. I just love this piece. ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Hi Louise, great video! I am about to embark on paint pouring, the artists recommend adding silicone oil to the paint to achieve lacing, I bought Pebeo brand from Amazon U.K. I am avidly watching your resin videos to gain from your vast experience - to make a memorial for my late dogs ashes as I don’t want to waste them. A hug for you & your beautiful furbabe 🤗🤗
@LouiseSingletonCreations
@LouiseSingletonCreations 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much, yes silicone oil can be used with resin to create cells but it can be a problem if you want to add more resin on top. I’m so glad you are enjoying my videos. I think ashes would be great in a memorial pyramid but I would experiment with something small first to get a feel for how they look. Good luck!

learning so much from you and love your variety in your work. I have found I get good cells and lacing when I blow the white over an extra layer of clear that I pour just before adding the white. Just a line of clear, then white, then blow. Does that make sense?
