I just bought your book and am t1d. I was lifting moderately 4 x per week last winter/spring/summer prior to my wedding. It was honestly so much work for me to get adequate protein and meet my macro goals. I am excited to read your book and hopefully learn more since my trainer did not know about type 1 and lifting. Thanks!!

Much relief after going through this stuff. Stress no doubt affects my blood sugar levels kzbin.infoUgkx6Cu3qDh3FB7umUbfXaU7hDAHrqvwQyNk Taking a walk usually help bring them down. Eating sweets is not my favorite, but if i take a large portion of them, my blood sugar level rises high. I think it's the high concentration of the glucose flowing into the bloodstream all at once. This is a lesson worth taking note of. This is a great material to learn from.

I used insuline for the last 27 years, I was diagnosed with 22 years old. Bodybuilding is very important to control BG and to lower your insuline intake. DO NOT use protein supplement, they will caused damage to the kidneys at the long run. You can eat meats and or fish 4 to 5 times a day but be careful with supplements. Carlos

If one trains consistently can muscles be built with no carbohydrates?
@nightfighter7452 Жыл бұрын
I think the most important thing is a caloric surplus so you'll have to eat more fat and protein but you could technically do it
@nightfighter7452 Жыл бұрын
But realistically, absolutely 0 carbs on a bulking diet seems a tad unrealistic. You can eat healthy carbs like a fruit and veggie shake or whole wheats and just load up on them before and during work outs while eating less carbs on your off days and while not training.

Well I'm not super knowledgeable on the subject but based on my own experience ( diabetes type 1), a person can't fully leave off carbs, as this is our main fuel source. For muscle growth a person needs, protein, calories surplus and carbs per google so anyone who claims they did it without any of these things might be bsing imo Edit: meant to say I'm not* super knowledgeable

man i need your advice so much. my thing is that i work in a furniture factory.we assemble furniture for bath so it has the wood body and the sink. together in a box weights between 20 and 40 kilo from ground up above my head . i lift them average 150-200 times per day from ground up above my head,like a dead lift and a push above the head, 5 days per week in last 7 years.than i go home and in 5 days out of 7 i just lay on my bed from 3 PM to 11-12 pm watching TV or playing on the PC. is that a sedentary type of routine or active type?.I am 178 cm tall and 102-105 kilo,quite fat in my belly area with hips measure at 108 cm, belly measure 109ish , chest size 129 cm. biceps area is about 40-42 cm around the highest point. my concern is that i have blood sugar levels around 130-140 which is a sign of pre-diabetes or a diabetes that just started,so i need to take some care about my body.so my question is , judging by my work and free time spending, am i considered sedentary or active ? i wish to start lifting weights at a gym but i already do at my work place.could that work or would it be too much on my muscles?I never been in a gym so far so i dont know my strenght level but ocasionaly i lift a big type of sink of 100 kilo and i carry it about 20 meters and repeat 9-10 times without getting tired or sweaty.do you also have any advice on what meats can i eat?i mention that i am HEAVY relaying on pork meat as at work i feel super weak in the days i dont eat at least 100 grams in the morning,but i think must change it cause of my recent glicemy problems.can you give any advice?even general stuff?

Your liver makes Alcohol its priority and it stops dumping glucose when you drink, therefore your glucose levels will drop. I think it has more to do with your long acting background insulin. A low can sneak up on you quick when you drink.

I am very active- always have been. I ate normal amounts of carbs. I then became type 2 diabetic. I cut out carbs and started lifting and My A1c dropped below pre-diabetic level. But I can’t gain muscle mass becasue I can’t eat carbs. If I start eating carbs I will become diabetic again. So I lift and lift and get zero results. I eat a ton of food and massive protein, which is good. So it seems either I get ripped and gain mass and become diabetic or I stay skinny, but avoid diabetes and live a long life. Hmmm muscle or long healthy life. Guess I’ll choose long healthy life. As a skinny guy.

How many carbs are you typically eating per day?and how much do you think your body would need at minimum to grow?
@aw37522 жыл бұрын
@@albert87jjy I eat less than 50 grams per day and eat no sugar… which has saved me from type 2 Diabetes. How much COULD I eat to gain weight OR how much SHOULD I eat to be healthy? I COULD eat dirty and easily consume 5 to 8,000 calories a day, but at what price to my health? And it wouldn’t necessarily convert to muscle.. it would likely give me a pot belly. You try eating that many calories a day eating only protein and vegetables. I burn at least 2,500 calories lifting very heavy 4 times a week with a trainer. I’m not willing to gain muscle at any price. I’d rather be fit, healthy and thin than have more muscle but have a gut and type 2 Diabetes. Muscle isn’t the Holy Grail. It’s healthy numbers. It would be nice to have more muscle, but my genetics, hyper-active metabolism, my age (57) and current healthy diet just won’t let me bulk up like that.

I'm a 48 year old male who is 6'3" weighing at 210lbs with T2D. I was diagnosed with T2D 7 years ago, after having both adrenal glands removed due to malignant pheochromocytoma, as well as thyroid cancer. I run 7 to 10 miles 3 times a week, play basketball twice a week, and lift weights 5 days a week. I stopped taking my metformin 2 years ago, as I no longer require it. I eat 6 to 8 times a day, mostly vegetables (eg. Broccoli, carrots, spinach...) with proteins (fish, chicken breast, eggs, turkey breast, cottage cheese, nuts, yogurt, peanut butter...). With lots of water per day. Sometimes I'll have small potatoes or rice, but not too often. As for supplements, I take zinc, magnesium, a multivitamin in the morning. I also take salmon oil 3 times a day with a meal. I'll also have a glass of water with glutamine and creatine before workouts, right after a small meal. I also take L arginine and L citrulline before bed. And finally I do take a vegan protein powder with no sugar. I stay away from sugars, processed foods, simple carbohydrates and all junk food. Well... actually... once every 2 weeks I cheat and have either an unhealthy snack or meal. But it motivates me to work harder at the gym. So far, so good. 🤗
