Hi Sarah, So happy you liked it and found it valuable! It's tricky for everyone to learn when things are badly explained, we work hard ton trying to simplify processes that can seem ery complicated, when actually it's oftentimes a matter of repetition of simple steps that creates the magic! Glad to see you on board, if you're new to our work you might want to check out our daily updates over on Instagram at @petronella.art and @_charleshenry_ or see more of our courses on Charles and Elin Academy. All the best to you!

Hi Charles. Thank you for the great work in this class. I have a question for you. In stitching the sea, you do a backstitch first and then a split stitch, or you split stitche the back stitch you made? And my next question for working the sky would be do you do the same thing with whites and light blues back stitch and then split stitch? Would love to know. Thank you for your teaching video!

Hi Hi.. For both of you..amazing Artists. Which materials and what sort of threads you are using for this unbelievable beautiful embroidery? One more thing do you use split stitch while stitching the small figures like house, castle etc ...?Please advise. .

I notice on all of your masterclasses and tutorials that you always switch your hand position from the front of the piece to the back of the piece with each stitch. Is there a reason you don't do your stitches by keeping your hand on top of the piece? I would think that would be easier on your hand and make the stitching go faster. Thanks for all of the great videos!
@CharlesElin
@CharlesElin 4 жыл бұрын
Dear Becky! So sorry for the slow reply, was sure that I had responded to you earlier, my apologies! Yes that's right, thanks for paying attention. It's definitely not a must to do the way we do, we simply find it easier to control the linework when being attentive for each stitch (both from atop and below). Furthermore, for the Architectural hand embroidery designs we like to use cotton canvas that you can stretch quite strongly in the hoop to create stability, which also facilitates when making straight lines. And we've found that when keeping the hand on top and doing the full loop backstitch, the fabric can easier get loosened, which would then make it easier to accidentally pull the thread too hard and perhaps create bubbles... I hope this all makes sense! Don't hesitate to reach out via email if you have any more questions, All the best and we're so happy to have you in our courses!
