Great video. I’m going practice these. I’ll probably have to watch your video a few times before I get it right though. I only learnt to crochet about 4 months ago (because I sprained my ankle and was off work so I needed something to do) anyway, I’m now addicted! So far I’ve made a teeny tiny messy “blanket” which I’m very proud of 😆

Awesome, thinking about adding embroidery to a crochet blanket. One video I watch to crochet on a budget. Buy premade crochet blankets at thrift stores either RIP it and make something else or add to it like a border, appliques or cross stitch. But get blanks that are in good condition and if need to use a defuzzer. I know I can by a nice and good condition blanket at my thrift store from $2 to $5. Seriously you can't make a blanket for that much now days. So if your in a tight budget. I think it a great idea and you still get to do what you love, crochet. I found a beautiful crochet blanket at one of my thrift stores but I liked to much to change or make anything else with the yarn, now its going to be my fall over the couch blanket.

It is great you are saving these works of art from the thrift store.

Thank you very much for sharing! 💕 I really appreciate this! I’m new to embroidering on to crochet pieces so this has been very helpful. I was wondering though, I’d like to embroider on to some crochet on the vertical.. it doesn’t line up quite as neat.. is that just I need to practice or can this only be done horizontal and does it work best on single crochet not so much double being looser? Hope this makes sense and I don’t sound too silly haha x
@WindingRoadCrochet4 жыл бұрын
I have done this on double crochet. It is a bit harder because you need to work into a stitch and not between the stitches. Stitching a straight vertical line is a bit tricky because the single crochet actually do not sit on top of each other. Just use a ruler of a straight edge to keep the line straight.

Sorry deleted your comment, but I saw it. So what I like to do at the end is to weave in your yarn end instead of making a knot. You can make a knot but if you are putting it in a frame, it could create a problem.

@WindingRoadCrochet2 жыл бұрын
You would have to be able to hide your starting and ending yarn tail under some other stitches. So maybe start with a long yarn tail and when you are done you hav put a needle on the yarn tail and weave it under some other stitches to hide it.

Hi! I really want to draw out my plan until it looks right, and then embroider over it. Do you happen to know what would be good for that? Should I just use a marker and try to wash it off after?

You can try a washable marker. For emboridery they make a special marker that is blue and washes off with just water.
