How to Export Instagram Videos in Premiere Pro CC
If you edit your Instagram videos using Adobe Premiere Pro, it's important to understand how to properly export the video from Premiere to Instagram.

You have several options for video size for Instagram.
Let's focus on the Instagram feed.
We'll cover IGTV and Instagram Story and Instagram Reel in the next video.
Instagram feed settings for video.
Dimensions
1. 1:1 or Square = 1080x1080 Pixels
2. 4:5 = 1080 x 1350 Pixels
3. 16:9 = 1920x1080 Pixels
Length for Instagram feed = 60 seconds maximum
Files Size = Maximum 4GB
The biggest factor in quality in the export setting is bitrate. Make sure you always select two-pass VBR.

Need help. I'm on a MacBook Pro. Did everything the video said (using the 1:1 resolution), and it wouldn't upload using the Facebook creator studio (it won't let me select the video I want upload), nor would it airdrop properly to my phone (it asks to put it in my iCloud files, and I can't ever access the video using that). Am I missing something here? The videos 57 seconds long, so it can't be length, and size is 87MB (max size listed in video description is 4GB). All settings are correct just like on the video, I triple checked that. Any fix?

Would it be better to simply record the footage in 1080p to begin with? Or is it better to just record on the maximum settings?

if your recording for instagram specifically then yeah just film in 1080p...but if your going to post the video on youtbe, and other platforms too then id consider shooting 4k

Same here. Video is Okay when played on cell phone. But once uploaded on Instagram, video is cropped to square. 😳
