You could try using Denoise or capturing a noise print of just the noise you want to remove and using Noise Remover.

Bear in mind this is a workaround technique and won't get you a perfect instrumental and if the vocals have stereo effects it's sadly unlikely to work well at all.

The only true way to achieve what you want to achieve is to get the instrumental. This work around works very well if the song is produced in a certain way but can, as you've discovered, still leave remnants of the vocals.

Please be aware that for this workaround technique to work a sound has to produced and mastered in a certain way. If the vocals cross channels then this just won't work I'm afraid.

Success depends on how the track is produced and mastered. Any vocals off the centre channel will cause less desirable results.

With the channel extractor you can either remove the centre channel or the side channels. You don't have the ability to remove individual instruments. For that you'd need the original stems and mute the ones you don't want in your mix.

If the drums are in the centre channel and you want to keep the vocals then you're also keeping the drums I'm afraid. Without the individual stems of the song you can't selectively remove elements.
