How to fish after a cold front. Surprise bait

The struggle was that there had been drastic weather changes with the temperatures dropping and rising upto 50º differences. What river system were you on ? Do you think filleting the carp would work as well versus throwing whole chunks out

I prefer chunks. It helps it stay on the hook better and helps keep smaller fish, crabs or turtles from stealing it
