The exhaust silencer is upside down. The mounting hole needs to be at the top because on the other side you'll see a small hole which is for fluids to drain from.

Do you put anything to seal around the exhaust/intake hole in the floor?

You can use a high heat silicone for these or just a standard silicone for the air intake as it obviously doesn’t get hot.

No, not unless you spill diesel when filling it.

It depends how high you run it etc. The best fuel consumption for this heater would last 55 hours from 1 tank.
