99% of people would gain more by changing the bushings (if they have them) to 699 bearings or changing the OE bearings to ones with Non contact seals. Last week, one company released an OSPW with a bearing that was so large, it had more drag than a bottom bracket. And just consider how much load goes through a bottom bracket (rider weight) vs a chain tensioning device. Ludicrous.

Even if you accept OSPWs do look better then surely this doesn’t apply when it has Muc off written on it. Imagine having a beautiful Dura ace or super record mech and adding something that looks like it was given away free with a magazine. Unless you see Ineos using these you can probably assume any claimed benefits are BS since they have Muc off as a sponsor and would go after the “marginal gains”

@kengunnett2017
@kengunnett2017 2 жыл бұрын
The pully wheel (upper) on my newly installed and upgrade derailleur on my trike doesn't seem to engage the chain very well in a couple of gears, it sounds like the teeth of the pully wheel are being slapped by the chain as it spins by, then you her a popping noise ever so often. My uneducated self tells me that adding a different pully wheel with another tooth or two would or might solve that problem, by forcing the wheel and chain to better engage. Might this be a common problem, my drive train is a collection of 9 speed parts from different makers.

Just don't. Even a Acera RD-390 can handle a wider range than you need. Don't down Triple chainrings and 8 speeds.. Sold my 2020 TREK because 12 speed linear just demands triple gear jumps and doesn't have any top speed. 17-117 gear inches on my Opus kills it. Lastly.. They fail quicker when things go bad it's catastrophic. My 17t tension pulley broke and destroyed the cage it was a walk home.. I think the bearing failed. The Alivio derailleur I had went into the spokes a few time since 2013... But didn't last a week after this mod. Even a 11-13 in the stock cage did better with just sealed bearings.
