I have a 2nd gen taco with a 3.5" rough country lift. I run 285/70/17... had some minor rubbing on some of the plastics inside the fender. Didnt get any cab mount rubbing 👍

CMC done and running 285/75/16 and no rubbing. Looks good Jesse!

I was able to clear 285/70/17s with no issues.. at first I was rubbing the cab mount like crazy but got an alignment and they gave me positive caster to push the wheels forward. I do have SPC UCAs, looks like you have JBA UCAs? Might be able to do that as well

It almost depends on wheel/rim size I use to have icon wheels 8.5 wide and I never rubbed ever and now I have summit Offroad 17x9 and those have always rubbed that does help but I also plan on going 35s so I’d rather prepare myself now

What’s your offset I think I fucked up the guy at tire performance told me to go with a positive 18 offset I rub so bad on my UCAs

What about 305/70/17 you think a cmc will do the job I just got these tires…google said there 33.8 or close to 34

You won’t need a cmr but I’d suggest 100 percent a cmc Tacoma’s need one with 33s 285/70/17 which is more of a 32.9 so with the size u went with ur gna need it

Yes it will rub….have a eibach coilover 3” lift , 285/70/17 tires with fuel 17x9 -12 offset and it does rub on plastic and cab mount.

That's crazy I have a 3rd gen now & want to run 35s. My 1st gen, I ran 40s & it barely rubbed the cab mount but I did have to cut the front.

I would never chop up my truck like that. All that and the bigger tires make your truck slower and more sluggish.

The purpose of this is I plan on running 35s like others do and when going Offroad you need as much clearance down there without rubbing / as far as sluggish that’s why you regear and possibly retune the truck it’s not for everyone but if you plan on this as a hobby you have to build the truck up for it

Not that anyone gives a flying rat's ass but my setup looks like this 👉 Bilstein 5100 set on 5th perch with 1/4in shim spacer which adds 1/2in of lift putting me at 2.5 inches of lift running 285 75 16's on 2019 TRD 16x7 wheels with zero rub. I had rubbing issues with spider trax spacers. So basically if I had wheels with a -12 offset I'd have some rubbing.

I'm doing the same thing, but I picked up a set of kmc wheels and 285 70 17 toyo mud terrains. Should have the right offset to clear when wheeling. Just need to get that spacer installed. Been raining too much in WA state.
