Saw someone on Reddit with the same issue. I thought this was informative so I linked them here! I didn't know this was so common

I still have my family's SNES since we got it from the store. Still in excellent condition. Though one of the controllers need it's D-pad membrane replaced after I damaged it trying to clean it

For your Eject Button you might want to try lightly using a Magic Eraser on it.

Excelente video, yo en su lugar usaría un extractor para quitar el estaño

I'd advise against using alcohol to clean plastics. it's probably fine in this case, but IPA can make some plastics very brittle, and it might also affect any printed labels. a better option is to just let everything soak in warm water with some hand soap or mild dish soap and then clean it with a tooth brush.

Thanks for the tip, wouldn't soaking it in water also reduce the adhesive that holds the stickers to the case?

My DC jack was loose and power only worked when held a certain way. When I went to resolder the metal ring around where you solder came off. After soldering I now have no power at all. Is it because the metal came off and if it is how do I fix it?
@BelowAverageGaming7 ай бұрын
I'm not sure what you mean by metal rings? Do you mean the soldering pads? Are your connections bridged?
@zeel45507 ай бұрын
@@BelowAverageGaming yes the solder pads
@BelowAverageGaming7 ай бұрын
Oof. If you removed the solder pad all together then yes it's broken. I would recommend looking at solder pad repair guides if that's the case

I switched the power port and when I went to play a game, the resolution is awful. More than you would expect. Did I mess something up during the fix? Any ideas?
@BelowAverageGaming6 ай бұрын
Well the power port shouldn't have anything to do with the resolution, that would be the AV ports. Is it possible you hit that area with your iron on accident? Have you tested different cables?
@tle30306 ай бұрын
@@BelowAverageGaming It's the same resolution for the coax and the multiout. Could it be the "natural" resolution since it is going to a HDTV? I don't think I hit anything with the iron. I will try to borrow someone elses SNES to see if it is the machine. Thank you.
