Most folks know how to do just the needle but that was the first video that I have seen on replacing the seat and using the special seating tool.

Thanks for the information on inlet seat sizing.I just received a knock off (offshore kit)2 complete kits delivered for 13$ Cdn .It came with 2 seats and 2 needles (one rubber tipped and one metal).The sizes are “close “ to factory gravity inlet (0.069 diameter) at 0.074 Large/ 0.054 Small.I assume the metal needle for pump fed units.Carb parts for 1997 vintage Briggs /Walbro carbs getting tough to access for reasonable $ in Cdn $.Can replace/roll dice for knock off replacement complete carbs for 18-28$ delivered free by Amazon.(tough to compete when they more than often work fairly well on an old beater tractor)

We had a few of these come threw the shop where we ultrasonic the carb install the kit and still the carb floods. So after that we replace the carb.

I would replace the carb as well normally

Some of them have a little needle sized air vent hole that can get plugged up. kzbin.infoF0sjibeXe2Q. My carb didn't have the bleeder but I had to change the seat and tweak the little tab on the underside of the float so it put a little more pressure on the seat.

Thanks for the great video. I am wondering is this a repost of an older video?

The later ones didn’t need a thin wrench but earlier versions did.I think if you bend over a buy a new 80$ solenoid you get the benefit of easy removal/replacement at least(plus a way lighter wallet 😢)I believe they are unobtainium now anyway…obsolete unless can find NOS pieces.

Had a guy call me ask if I could fix a Cub Cadet carb I said yes , But i rather replace it I can get one cheaper than a rebuild kit . gave him the price he said they make everything throughway today . yep price of the carb over labor rebuild .

Does anybody know why you need to replace the seat? I would think the needle is all that would go bad and a brass seat would just need a cleaning?

I tried, still flooded. ended up buying a cheap knockoff carb replacement(for less than the needle/seat/seal kit) and it cranked up first try. had to change my oil after flooding it so much
@johnkosheluk10412 жыл бұрын
Some carbs you can't replace the needle and seat
@THEMOWERMEDIC12 жыл бұрын
That’s correct however this video does not cover those carburetors covers the replaceable needle and seat in a Walbro carburetor on Briggs & Stratton, Kohler, and some Kawasaki engines

Question? Why did they design the fuel solenoid with the tightening nut extra thin so you have to use a specalized wrench??? Seems stupid, but I am sure there must be a reason. Ha Ha
