BEFORE YOU BUY THE OVERPRICED "GARAGE OPENER LED BULBS" READ THIS The more "modern" LED bulbs are made to work with dimmers, just like the old incandescent lights. In order to make that happen with LED bulbs, they put in the LED bulb a variable square pulse wave generator which is basically very close to a classical variable frequency oscillator. And that basically, is why SOME LED bulbs interfere with your garage door RF receiver. The solution to your problem is very simple and very cheap. Go to the nearest HOME DEPOT store and buy the CHEAP NON-DIMMABLE LED bulbs. TA DAH! Yes, the only "special" thing about the "special" garage LED bulbs is the huge price mark-up

Another frequent problem with intermittent operation is a bad connection on the circuit board where the wire harness connects to the circuit board. There are about 10 wires in that wire harness, anyone of which via loose connection to the circuit board will cause intermittent operation. Oftentimes the connector pins on the circuit board will have a broken solder joint & just need resoldering. It happened to me last week. I touched up the solder joints on the transformer as well with my soldering iron.

Liftmaster remotes are tuned to a frequency (mine is supposed to be 315mhz). according to information I found on the FCC website regarding this product it should not be off frequency by more than .1%. I don't know if you're still having the issue but I was running into a similar thing. We've only had 1 remote since we bought this place a few years ago. I recently got a new remote so we don't have to share 1 anymore & we were beyond thrilled! However, our initial glee was short lived when we realized that only 1 remote will work at a time.🙁 When the new 1 arrived & we programmed it--it worked fine but then original wouldn't work. So we programmed the original & then new 1 wouldn't work. So basically we can't get both openers to work at same time. We've tried resetting/clearing out the memory & starting fresh--still the same issue. Only one opener will work at a time. It's almost like as soon as we program one opener--it seems to disable the other opener. Both are functionable on their own-just not at same time. Any suggestions would be sooooo appreciated-we spent a good portion of our holiday weekend watching KZbin videos trying to find the fix. Well, the weekend is over & we're still here😞- searching for a Garage Door Opener Guru, who we promise to worship forever, if he or she can provide us with salvation in the form of a solution to our Hellish dilemma!Pleeeeease.🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Can anyone tell me why there are black lines going thru the majority of my question/comment? I've never seen this before. Thanks!
@GarageDoorGuidance3 жыл бұрын
Are you holding the button at all on the garage door opener ? ( it should only be pressed when programming ) which opener do you have as well I can try to help figure this out. Never saw black line as in your comment. Kinda funky for sure !

Yes, I followed the directions by pushing the button on the back of the main unit and then on the remote. The problem is that now that I bought a SECOND remote--we can't get both remotes programmed to work at same time. As soon as one gets programmed and is working--the other won't work. It doesn't matter in what order we program them in or if we do a complete reset--only ONE remote opener will work at a time. It's almost like as soon as one remote gets programmed--it disables the other. And they are the exact same remote. One is just new. Model GD-R12 ROUND w/3 buttons...One large and 2 small. So we know they both work because we have no problem programming them and getting each one to work....but they will NOT both (hold the code) or work at the same time. The second one gets programmed and is working--the other stops working and does nothing and vice versa. I have read so many articles and watched videos on this and most just deal with getting the remote openers programmed to work....that's not my problem. I can do that. Lol....I just can't get TWO to (hold the code) or stay programmed at once. If you have ANY suggestions-I would be soooo appreciative. Thank you for responding. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Best I can advise is to completely erase everything by holding the learn button for 7-10 seconds. Sounds like you may have already done that but all I can guess is that there are already too many items programmed to it and it kicks off the last 2. What type of garage door opener have you got? That may help me as well. Sorry for getting back to you a bit later this is a bit of a side gig haha.

@@GarageDoorGuidance yep, cleared the codes out. Tried same from there. Only one at a time can be programmed. #1 will be working fine. As soon as #2 is programmed and working--#1 stops working completely and vice versa. I have a Craftsman 1/2 H.R. w/red/orange learn button. And no need to apologize--I just appreciate SOMEONE trying to help me out. More than you know!🙏🙏

My remote works to open the garage, but not to close, even if I stand next to the receiver. After debugging I determined if the light on the unit is set to on the remote won't work. I figured I could just remove the bulbs, but after removing it still did not fix it. I am stumped. I have bought a new remote, reprogrammed it, but still striking out. If I switch the light switch on the wall to off, then the remote works. Any suggestions?
@GarageDoorGuidance2 жыл бұрын
That light switch you put flick off, has it been changed recently ? Is it LED ?
@MeursaultYT2 жыл бұрын
@@GarageDoorGuidance This occurs with a light bulb in or out. I read a comment where someone was experiencing this and they suggested unplugging the unit, erasing all codes and then reprogramming. Just odd that it still refuses to close even with no light bulb.

What about the safety sensors ? Are they both on and solid ?
@MeursaultYT2 жыл бұрын
@@GarageDoorGuidance Yep, safety sensors look good and are working. Clicker works if I switch the light off from the control panel. Again, no light bulbs in the sockets though.

I think the problem is the actual remote as the battery is good and the other remote works. What should I do?

I have just programmed a new remote and it works as long as the bulb on opener is off. It is the original bulb, and not an LED bulb! What could be the problem?
@GarageDoorGuidance3 жыл бұрын
Try to change the bulb anyway? Or remove it altogether to see if it works without it

@@GarageDoorGuidance I removed the bulb and the problem persists without the bulb!

Very interesting, have you installed any lights in the garage at all?

@@GarageDoorGuidance No, there have been a couple of fluorescent bulbs there all the time.

Got it, you can try to change the battery, it may help. Beyond that the next step would be to replace logic board but that’s already getting pricy
