NOT ME, i updated grub via terminal in Pop OS and instantly upon restarting my computer would no longer boot. But i could still post and get into bios so i tried changing some boot options and now my computer wont even POST. fans and diodes all light up on rx560 gpu, b350 mobo, debug lites go off after few secs but screen stays black entire time. measured v rails at this time and get 3.08. 5.07. 12.07 on rails, cleaned out psu and inspected for burn marks or bulging caps, none. no bulging caps on mobo or gpu ive removed the battery and shorted jbatt several times. tried removing boot m2 drive and tried a spinning disk, all for nothing. how does this happen?

Such a lifesaver! I was about to start crying that my laptop didnt want to boot up properly after a BIOS restart, for the guys that have MSI laptop some of them have a very tiny power reset button on the back press it for 30 sec and voila, basically the same concept as shown in the video

Hey guys for my Asus motherboard reseting the CMOS didnt initially work. What worked for me was removing all my ram sticks. Then I added one stick to slot one of the motherboard and restarted the PC. That finished the BIOS update. After everything is clear you can now add the rest of the sticks.

This is the way. Pre-built came with ram on slot 3. Reset cmos via battery and nothing but black screen on monitor. Moved ram to slot 1 and we are back in business.

if CMOS reset not works try to remove your components (ram, SSD + GPU) and install the bios new over the flash bios button (hope you have one). i had a blackscreen issue after update the bios for resize bar last weekend and could fix it after the mentioned solution

My issue is that my PC boots and I have no display issues AFTER Windows boots. Before Windows boots, I have no display and cannot enter BIOS to change settings or boot device, nor can I enter WinRE (Can't WinRE from the power button trick because my power button is broken on the mo-bo's side, so I have it re-wired to restart on the mo-bo. does the job. Hold for force shut down, tap for restart, tap for start from shutdown 🤷)

To the person who liked my comment, my monitor setup (display settings) defaulted after Windows upgrade. I had my TV connected to onboard graphics and was defaulted to Monitor 1. I didn't have the TV display the source of the PC, so I never saw that's where the output went. Felt like an idiot, but there you are. Just reconfigure your display settings to set your primary and secondary monitors. Note: don't use this in an interview when asked about troubleshooting experience. I thought the interviewer and I would have a laugh... They did not laugh, nor did I get the job 🥲

it means your bios is corrupted, just like mine, you need to find out if you have a second bios on your mootherboard, if not, you need to send it where you got it and get help or find a pc store that helps fix things

I updated the bios on my MSI PRO MAX to bios version 7C52v2C... My current version was 2019 build. I haven't added any new hardware, I am only using what is currently / originally in the pc. I wanted the windows 11 update, I was told i need some TMP enabled, so I went to the bios and turned on secure boot, fast boot and tmp, also enabled xmp/emp(whatever that is) for RAM. I click on save and reset and then the screen went blank. I tried restarting PC but no display. CPU fans are spinning, Motherboard light is on but no display whatsoever. I'm not sure if this is the fastboot's doing but earlier I had to long press power button on the pc to turn it off but now as soon as I touch it, pc turns off. I've removed and reseated GPU, RAM. I tried resetting CMOS by shorting it with a screw driver, also removed and reseated the CMOS battery.(multiple times) (Yes I unplugged the power cord before doing any of this. Also did the drain-the-static move by pressing and holding the power button a few times.

Yesterday I went into bios to turn on my integrated graphics for my Ryzen 3 3200g. When I saved and left bios my screen was black so I pulled out my Motherboard battery and re installed it. Today I tried doing that again and I had to pull the battery out again. Some minutes ago I went into bios and left emidiately without saving... I got a black screen again ! What can I do about that? My device manager is also not detecting my integrated graphics anymore after pulling out the battery.

What about black screen while gaming? Everything runs out okay, but when I game I quickly get black screens, just upgraded to a new CPU as well. It was list damaged but still working on ebay, and it probably the culprit, but it's stil fine and stable as long as I don't game.

Also when you Q flash you don’t have to turn on the computer just make sure it’s plugged in to the outlet like normal figure out where your queue flash button is on your motherboard and hold it for about 10 seconds it should take about 10 seconds to actually do something then you’ll notice your fans kick on and some flashing should occur

Maybe you can help me. After a ton of research, I went with a new Asus ROG Strix B550-F Gaming WIFI, a Ryzen 7 5800x3d, a Gigabyte Geforce3080 12GB CPU, 4x8 DDR4 Corsair Vengence RGB Pro Ram, and a Corsair RM850x Power Supply. I have several issues. I assembled the entire system, downloaded the Bios update, and was ready to rock. I hit the power button and nothing. I have the LED on the board but nothing powers. After trying the flash and still nothing I started to Troubleshoot. I managed to get the system to start but had to unplug the GPU to get the system to power on. I have tried 2 different USB sticks to flash the bios as directed Fat32, renamed Etc. My green light stays on, I have tried 4 or 5 times. I even removed the battery to reset the CMOS and still solid green. Problem is I have no idea if any one of these parts came DOA. Everything is New from Amazon, All boxes were sealed. I suspect the Power Supply but have no idea at this point. I am about $2800 in parts and kinda stuck. I used to own a Computer Store, I never once was stumped like this in 5 years in the store and another 15 as a tech.

They last a long time. I wouldn’t change it unless BIOS settings do not save, or a known good fixes your boot problem.

I have the MSI MPG B550 GAMING PLUS Motherboard ATX. In the bios, memory settings is a feature called "try it" with the discription "optimises your memory". When selected it bring up a drop down box. I selected the corresponding ram "32gb 3600mhz" and saved it. Reboot and my screens went off and wouldnt boot. Any ideas?

You can but you just need to take it out for a bit and put it back in. They are cheap, and you can replace if its been a few years but should be fine.

The battery saved me. I tried messing with my ram clocking speeds, saved and booted the pc up. Black screen as if my pc was off. Took battery out and poof within 15 seconds JT was working again

Ive taken out the battery. but It keeps saying A2 error code. i have tried everything and it seems nothing works. Anyone have an idea? I have the asus formula xii mobo and my gpu is the 3080ti.

@@DrTwitch no, actually, I have reseted bios but still only CPU WORKING, 2-3 hr continue computer turn on- turn off do, then sometimes computer turn on probably then next day again 2-3 hr do ON-OFF, :( I DON'T KNOW, VOLTAGE ISSUE, 3 light reveal in motherboard, VGA, CPU and GRAM. I removed the cmos battery and it reset the BIOS settings because I checked task manager and my ram overclock was reset. However, I'm still getting an infinite black screen when trying to enter the BIOS. Any tips or ideas on how to fix this?

Set your BIOS to use dedicated graphic while using integrated graphic

Tried both methods multiple times but no luck. Flashed BIOS (to the latest beta and stable versions both) with MSI flashback, no luck either. Took my old SATA SSD which has win10 installed from my old case and plugged it in and removed other storage devices from MOBO and got the only windows login screen. Before that, just nothing. No BIOS, no MSI splash screen logo, nothing at all. Straight to the windows login screen after 5-6 seconds of blank screen. (Of course I tried to get in to the BIOS with DEL key but then nothing happened. I know the PC was in BIOS but I couldn't see it on my monitor and had to restart.) I ordered an HDMI to D-Sub converter. I'll try when I get my hands on it. If it does not work again, I will have to wait for my other monitor that has the DP input to return from the service. Maybe I can get signal with DP port. Specs : MSI X570-A PRO AMD RYZEN 5 5600X CRUCIAL BALLISTIX 2*8 GB 3600Mhz CL16 SAPPHIRE RX580 NITRO 4GB TEAM MP-34 1TB NVME M2 SSD ADATA SU630 240GB SATA SSD

I have a Lenovo Legion Y740-17ICHg laptop. I disabled the intel onboard graphics from the bios and now I have a black screen. Keyboard still lights up dims when I play with the settings but I can’t see anything. I have tried just about everything including leaving the cmos battery out with the main battery unplugged for over a week and still no reset. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

None of this helped me my computer was working great until I disabled the csm and restored platform keys now no display and no keyboard at all tried resetting the CMOS by jumping it tried removing the CMOS battery up to 30mins everything nothing is working and I don't have igpu I have a 2600x so I can't use integrated graphics

I was messing around with the bios and changed many things and after that my monitor won't start but the cpu will and i did send my cpu to repair shop and they can't even fix it but they told me to changed motherboard so i don't really have the money for that

Screwed myself bad, I think the dell bios update I did deleted the original bios and corrupted the new one when I tried to restart the machine. I guess I have to desolder a bios chip and solder a new one or wait for the new mobo I ordered. Gotta love computers.....Thank God I don't invest my money in Computers and that what I have is a Cheap desktop with a $30 mobo otherwise I'd be pulling my hair out.

Lol turns out it was my TV not displaying my screen, tried my Extra Screen that I use for my Laptop, worked fine....Thank God..For those that have to Update your Bios on a G33M02 Board for a Dell Inspiron 530 from say 1.0.5 to 1.0.18 don't worry if your Display does not show a boot screen after a successful bios Update. Try using a different display or use the Display port on your Graphics card and it should boot up to windows/linux just fine.

I bought ryzen 9 5900x and Asus prime x570 pro. I updated the bios with older CPU. It worked normally with it but the display is still black after I change the ryzen 9. Does someone have an idea how to fix this?
