it cut off while I was driving it about 2 months ago and ever since then I thought it was the starter but it wasn't getting fired directly to the starter and I found your video looking at the pin on your video and then depend on mine there wasn't any indication showing it was busted but it died on me and now the radio doesn't power on but all my lights come on on my Dash and then afterwards it just clicks like out of the fuse panels or when I turn the key to start it

Nope, changed the battery and starter relay. Starter tested fine. Figured it was the key fob and/or ignition. I owed money on it and didnt want to shell out a couple hundred on a maybe. Told em' to come pick it up.

All right this morning it would not crank or start the lights work all the power in the car works just will not turn pass start to get that crank I and my 2006 is my daily driver I had to drive my scat in this freezing weather should I try replacing the pin or get it towed to the stealership

That'd be the SKIM module that reads the key.

Don't know if it's this but my Charger 07 RT died on me after I let it sit for a few days after a rain storm, put the cover on it and when I came back to it, it wouldn't start. I tried jumping it, the lights came on and you could hear the fuel pump but it wouldn't start. Not sure what it is

when you tried to crank the engine over with the starter relay under the hood with the key in the on position did it start the engine or no? anyway you could do that for me like you did in the first video and see if youre getting spark to the coil packs? been chasing a no start no spark issue for MONTHS, ive replaced that actuator pin and ignition switch already and thinking I may have a short in the power wires coming from the ignition, if you could help that would be awesome man

You should be able to pull the coil packs out and put a screwdriver in them and let the arc jump to frame or the head. Just make sure it will ground really well.

Thanks for the video. Before you changed the actuator and it wouldn't start would you hear a slight click when trying to start it? My key started sticking in on position sometimes. Now car wont start, no crank just a slight click. Thank you

If the click is coming from the engine bay it might be a dead battery. In this video I kind of show you that you can take the cap off the starter relay and actuate it manually. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mHbXmIBjjqt_r5o That will allow you to know if your battery, relay, and starter are fine.

@@NecromancerGarage thank you for the reply. I checked battery its at 12.1 volts also gave it a jump with my truck and nothing. The key in ignition seemed lie it was sticking before. It would crank about 3 times then start,also a couple times kept cranking even after starting. now just slight click. Thanks for the help I will check out the video

Sup man! I have a problem with my 2007 Dodge Charger v6 3.5 . I bought it 2 weeks ago and the guy told me nothings wrong with it but he also told me he had it for 8 years. Most of the time when i go to crank it , i have to turn it back over and crank it again but it would always crank right up after the first attempt. 2 days ago i was driving & i made a left turn and it just stopped working . I paid almost 5 grand for this car and a week goes by and she wont even attempt to crank. Battery tends to die on me but im suree its not the battery. And im %99 sure its not my starter. I really need answers please help me out!

Check the battery connections and grounds. If you turn the key and you can hear the fuel pump turn on, your ignition switch might be fine. If you go to turn the key and hear a "clunk" in the front, check battery connections and grounds. It's kind of hard to diagnose these issues without knowledge of cars, but you can go on Facebook and join some Chrysler 300/Dodge Charger/Dodge Magnum groups and they'll help you get squared away.

I have a 2007 charger 2.7l that is doing the same thing (turn key lights turn on but car doesn't start) I changed the actuator pin and bought a brand new battery from AutoZone. It started up I drove it for 5 min took it back home turned it off left it sitting for 3 min tried to turn it on but it started doing the same thing.. Let me know if you can help

Starter turns over when jumping the relay? Once I figured out mine turns over with the relay I knew it had to do with the security.

@@NecromancerGarage I had someone test the relay. They came out good. Didn't try to jump it though.

@@Black_American_Native As long as they tested the relay on the car and it made the engine turn over you're good. That leaves a few other possibilities on why it wont crank over with the key in. The security module/tumbler above or the entire computer. You can easily take the dash apart to see if the issue is the same as this video though.

Hello my 2006 srt8 Charger has starting issues. My car turns on fine 8 out of 10 times. The other 2 it just keeps turning over(cranking) for about 3 seconds. Until I try again and again until it turns on. Where these your symptoms?

Sorry for not replying, yup. Exactly my issue. The nail in the coffin was one time I tried starting it and it would not take. On the 100th try or so it finally gave in, drove home and parked it. I figured it was the starter or the ignition switch.

Yup. The point of me messing with stuff under the hood is to show my starter was still functional, so it must be something else causing it not to start.

That computer is what reads the key, you might need to swap out the key or get it programmed to yours.

Sounds about right. That's what happens when the security kicks in on a car. It'll turn on for about 1 second then it'll shut off.
