How to fix your heater blowing cold air or just warm air instead of hot in any e9x model bmw. This fix was so much easier than I thought it was gonna be so I didn’t need to put it off.

I hope you take this the way intended, You are a very competent technician but you tend to be a bit conditional and tentative as you explain and demonstrate. you did the right thing since all systems pick up fluid from the bottom of the radiator and return flow to the top. You would go opposite to flush. Thank you for the help.

I fixed the interior heating on my E92 N54 coupe this afternoon. I removed the top firewall cowling and the factory strut brace to get easier access. Removed only the top heater hose at the firewall and blew compressed air through the inlet on the firewall to the heater core. I then put a piece of clear tubing that fit snug in the heater core inlet hole (firewall) connected the garden hose and let it rip. A lot of old grey water came out. I also disconnected the clip on the coolant tank small top hose and ran a lot of water back through this end of the small hose. I topped up my coolant tank with concentrated anti boil/ Antifreeze and ran the engine till hot. I took it for a drive and the heater now works. No more cold air and foggy windows. Ready for winter.

My car is weird it gets warm only when it’s sitting still but when I drive it starts blowing cold. Does this fix it as well?

I would assume it would but I can’t say for sure. Doesn’t hurt to try tho. Only takes a few minutes 👌🏾

explaining clearly a bit more what your actually doing would have been nice i don't get it either. is it coolant whe're talking about ? going into and out the heater valve ?

I’m not sure where the confusion is? I just flushed the heater core out by spraying water into the inlet and outlet hoses. That was all that was needed to do.
