Thanks for the videos. I would guess that the orange paint is to identify what tools are yours when you are with other worker. I grew up with a family of carpenters and we all had our own color so when we picked up tools at the end of the day it was easy to keep them straight. Dad was yellow, uncle was blue and when I got old enough that I had to pay for my own tools I painted them Red. I caught my uncle painting blue over my Red tool once. Thanks for the painting tips. I will try the Mad Dog primer.

Orange paint, is to know what vehicle it belongs in. When you have multiple vehicles on site. You want to put every tool back into it's designated vehicle or tool box.

2 thoughts with the orange paint. 1) To identify the tool as yours 2) to clearly mark the edge of the tool to remind you not to put your fingers anywhere near the spinning disc.

I used a paint eater and followed up with a palm sanders and primed with this triple thick primer because i wanted it to build up past any roughness left behind . This triple thick primer poured out of the gallon real thick but when i started priming , it went on extremely thin ..lol I hope the peel stop part works , because the build up part didn't work well at all . It felt like i was priming with wallpaper paste .

good videos but you should always always always use a drop cloth under you before scraping to catch the peelings and dust. then you always use an empty gallon pot as a workp[ot to us4e brush with out dipping into a full gallon, it could spillover and cost u money and time, i been painting for 15 years commercially and residentially, I enjoy your channel, keep up the good work, im from the south

Was really hoping this would have covered interior... Great vid as always though! My parents have some major peeling on their bathroom ceiling... Im assuming in the 28 yrs since building the house, a bathroom fan was never installed, which is probably the reason it has peeled so bad! I really want to help them fix it, but never seen the process done, and KZbin doesnt really have any good vids covering this... Any chance you come across this situation? If so, would you consider doing a video on how to properly prep and paint a ceiling that has such bad peeling? Thanks Chris

Prob don’t read comments in older vids. I do t know how to pm you on utube or contact you. But we bought a house while back years ago. We are redoing 1 room at a time, my existing problems are, I like my work to look like a pro did it, or as close to new as possible, no sloppy work, go that extra mile, it shows in the long run. All the entry ways & door way trim which is stained and only coated, has a lot of old yellowish paint around and up the edge, and makes my work look like shit, who ever painted this obviously threw it on , they didn’t use tape whatsoever on the edges. It up the sides and around every damn door trim. I changed colors to a grey blue wall and you can see the white outline all way around doors trim looks horrible, I’ve tried to remove it with solvents but doesn’t work tried sanding, will take a year to do it. Going now to buy a tube of white caulk going to try and put some sort of coverage on it and tape it off maybe. Least a white straight line would look better than what’s on it now any help greatly appreciated , short cuts or just how to properly caulk around door frames thanks

How long will that last, and what if it peels the next year? I did a badly kept garage door with fiberglass and other fillers to smooth it out most the paint still looks good ecpt along the bottom rail of the 16x7 wood door. That bubbled up and cracked the first year. A pro painter did it once the whole pain job he did didnt last a year. I put 3 coats of paint 2 coats of primer and sanded between coats I even removed all the weather striping and bottom bump guard. Im about to give up and cover it in plastic. Maybe an epoxy paint and treat the wood with a petrified chemical you use to treat rotting wood to repair it. Or fiberglass resian on the whole bottom board. This should have be treated wood or cedar. But I belive its a pine type wood. Even ash or popular would have been a better choice.

The paint identifies your tools, could be to identify them as yours for your own personal marker so that your employees know they are yours or it could be identified for entire business if working on job sites that would require more then one company painting. My husband is the 4th generations of his company and does the same thing. He travels nationwide and locally so we have spent our fair share of replacing tools that gerbil left behind or picked up by mistake. Same with his employees getting the same "look-a-like" tools mixed up on who's is who's.

You color code your tools based on the toolboxes or area they belong in; eg, two toolboxes with similar contents have different colors like orange and green. I keep thinking it's a Six Sigma type of thing. it helps insure things are returned to the right spot especially when you have multiple of the same tool.
