Thanks. This was great. The magnetic snapping bug has the same issue in DR 17 as well. Unchecked that and it pastes right where the playhead is. One reason I think this is important is that I often have multiple quotes and want the same frame and set up (Rather than getting a new title from the toolbox and readjusting it). So it's important to be able to quickly copy title/quote boxes, and then paste in the new text into the same, previously formatted text title. Thanks again.

I think more people starting out are more confused with the track selection and which track gets the paste than this one. Also, I have noticed people that I have taught have problems with clearing the in and out because there is nothing selected, so they click the menu to clear and nothing happens. The problem of course is that there are several places on the edit page that can have IN/out and Resolve needs to know which occurrence of it to clear.

Omg, this bug has been SO fricking annoying... I've had it for i think over year now and the only way that i found a workaround was to just copy the first clip of the timeline and paste it so davinci pastes it right at the same place but it got rid of the marker bar that was stuck there. Thanks for showing the second tip, worked wonders. Just a little constructive critisism I wanted to say from the start of the video. I would've liked to see at least one shot where you showed what was happening in the program. Now i had to guess if this was a video about the issue i had or skip a lot of the video to get to somewhere in it where you showed what was actually the bug you were dealing with. It's not always crystal clear to me at least what to call these issues i have and programs like davinci have so many bugs that people might call two different bugs the same bc they are similar in nature. So at least one clip of showing the program where the clip you were pasting goes to the front of the project would've been really useful. Also as a content creator you probably want people to watch the whole video and not skip a bunch. Anyways, not meaning to be rude or anything, thought it could be a little tip from the viewer's perspective :)
@cinechimp Жыл бұрын
Hello to you Izu in Finland. No problem at all in the constructive criticism. It was well explained. As you may know, sometimes viewers can be a lot harsher in their comments. I have heard it all. It's not a bug. This is the DaVinci copy hierarchy. First, the clip is copied to the IN point (very useful), if the in/out point does not exist, it is copied at the playhead position. This is exactly what you see at 1:58.
@cinechimp4 жыл бұрын
Yes this is a bug as it happens with in out points NOT set and is a commonly acknowledged problem, As is the typing titles activating I/O points. Then you would also see that by pasting the footage at that TC that the I/O points are switching ON and OFF due the pasting of media. Its a real pain in the....word I cant say in the comments. If you havent experienced it, lucky you. I wish I hadn't.
