How to fix Xbox one wireless hardware problem and assembly (part 2)

In this video I go over how to assemble the xbox one original model, after fixig/replacing the wireless card and it's antenna.
Fixing/replacing the wirless card (and it's antenna if it's broken) will help you if you are having issues with;
-Wireless hardware issues
-Your wireless device from your xbox not conecting to your controllers or wireless devices or network

Is it easy to fix the WiFi card ? Mine isn’t reading any WiFi in my area so should I get a new WiFi card??

I think I just need to get a new Xbox one at this point everything did good I put it all back together started from part 1 to part 2 still don’t know what’s wrong with it like the button doesn’t turn on I hear sound like it wants to come on but at least I know it isn’t the power brick

Aedurr If your power button doesn’t work then check the blue ribbon for damage, because that is for the touch-sensor, if you’re lucky a tech-shop MIGHT be able to replace it. This video set is mainly if you’re having wifi card/antenna issues.

So.... I was able to successfully take apart and put back together. Went through it twice. But not powering on. Is there some sort of a reset inside that I missed?

Anything related to the power supply shouldn't be affected, but the blue ribbon is for the touch sensors of the power-on touch-button. Make sure you've put that ribbon connected back up and also check it over to make sure it's not been ripped or torn apart anywhere. You do have to be careful handling it but I would say it takes some effort to actually damage it, so unless you dropped one end of the console while the ribbon is attached, you should be fine, I would think you'd notice pretty quickly if you tore it.

I'm glad you figured it out before just throwing it away 👍 I am surprised that ribbon came loose from it's retainer but then again I'm also not that surprised lol

What is the function of the blue ribbon?

supercooldude64 The blue ribbon is basically the touch sensor’s electric component. If that is ripped or damaged then the touch-power button, and the touch-eject button won’t work. Essentially bricking your console, hence why I thought it was really important to highlight it in making this video. It still baffles me why other videos don’t or barely mention it.

I can’t for the life of me get the top plastic casing on correctly. It fits fine just not where the disc drive area is. Don’t get me started with that ribbon cable bloody POS lol

What exactly do you have to do to fix the problem with the card?

JakelovPats If the card is broken (i.e. wireless problems to the extent that your wireless doesn’t work AT ALL including wireless connections to controllers) then you’ll need to replace the card itself. It could also be an issue where the gold connector to the antenna is damaged and then you’ll need to replace the card there too. If your wireless problems are just limited to having longer-range issues i.e. connecting to your router, then it could just be that your antenna needs replacing or the connection to the card is loose. But again, check over your wireless card for damages as well. I would only open up the xbox if you’re not bothered about voiding the warranty (or it’s already past it - which is more likely), AND you have tried messing with the settings already (i.e. hard resets, clearing cache etc) and are still getting consistent wireless problems.

Sam Bailey Reputable sellers usually come up on Amazon (I got mine from there), but there’s not always many wireless cards floating about as unfortunately some people just throw away the whole xbox unit if one part breaks. You should be able to find a seller who offers both the wireless card and the antenna, I would advise getting them both so if both are in fact broke then you can just replace both parts. However that is up to you to decide depending on what isn’t working from your unit. Hope that helps a bit. 👍
