I'm in Australia, and the prospects for my online specialist English language tuition services are all over the world. So, can I get an SMS and voice enabled Australian Twilio number and use it on WhatsApp to respond to queries (by SMS) or voice calls from across the world?

Really good question. I’ve honestly never tried to do that with WhatsApp using a Twilio number but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. WhatsApp requires texting a code to validate the phone number so I would say that you’d need to buy a number and turn on the ability for it to send global text messages. The other option is you could just buy something from mint mobile, and then link that number to WhatsApp. Mint mobile will sell you an E Sim card and there service is really cheap. So you could buy their five dollar per month service, never really use them, and connect the number to WhatsApp. that’s my immediate thought of the path I would probably take.
