@MagyMom2 no, sorry, it's not gonna come out of the freezer firm and nice. this is good for juices, smoothies, shakes... it's gonna keep the flavors and sugar but one it's in room temperature the appearance will not be as same as fresh. if you need it perfect for cake decoration or something please buy it fresh.

fribiesdi exactly. We've been doing this for years with dozens of pounds of blueberries and strawberries and once the defrost enough to eat or use, they're squishy and bitter.

They smelled like it but I only used a table spoon of vinegar. I made smoothies so I didn't notice any vinegar after taste. A good tip I found was to soak the fruit in a bowl of water after you rinse them I was surprised how much additional sediment was in the water bowl after soaking also let them dry on a paper towel before you place them on a plate to freeze the fruit it prevents the fruit from sticking together. After a hour or two put the fruit into freezer bags and place in the freezer for later use. It will be good for up to a year in the freezer.

You can stick a straw in the end of the baggie (seal the rest closed) , and suck the air out through the straw.

Thanks! I like how you explain the reasons for doing everything. I won't lose too much flavor if I cut the strawberries after they are washed and dried, will I? I like to put cut up, frozen fruit in my hot oatmeal in the morning - it tastes so good! A big frozen strawberry plunked into the hot oatmeal just isn't as delicious. Thanks again!!

Actually...the MIDDLE has the MOST bromelain in it...don't throw it away....eat it, or juice it! It has other nutrients in it also. It's not as sweet, and tougher to eat...but when eaten with the rest...it's great! Bromelain is also good for reducing pain and inflammation.
